England to meet Australia at soccer in London

Hammers delighted by England honour 13 Nov

West Ham chairman Terence Brown has spoken about his delight at the FA's decision to stage the historic England versus Australia clash at the Boleyn Ground, Upton Park.

The game, which will take place on February 12, will be the first time that the two sides have met in England and the first time that West Ham have hosted a full international.

Brown told the FA's official website: "I am delighted the club has been chosen by the Football Association to host a full England International at the Boleyn Ground.

"This will be the first time West Ham United stages a Senior International, although the Club is entertaining the England Under-20s when they play Switzerland here in December.

"The Boleyn Ground at Upton Park is now considered one of the finest stadiums in the Premiership and it will provide the perfect venue for this prestigious fixture."

If Kewell, Viduka, Lazaridis etc are released, this'll be an interesting match, eh?

That's a tough one. Both teams are capable of utter brillance and also utter mediocrity! I think we will have a bit of a home advantage, and so we'll scrape through. 2-1 I think.

Hmm, Matty is being very kind to our Ozzie cousins here! Seriously I know we stink at cricket, and only just scraped a win against OZ in the rugby, although we did beat the Neew Zealand All Blacks too, but come on now! No contest!

England will wipe the floor with Australia in football, I forecast a win to England by a 3 goal margin.

Damn! Australian soccer is in a deppressing state at the moment!

Ozzie it's great to see your optimism, but I'm afraid englishman is right... Especially considering the way Leeds(Kewell,Viduka) have been performing. Also consider the fact that the australian team hasn't been playing together lately whereas england has been involved in various games a international level. We need a new coach... I nominate Johnny Warren. The guy's a legend!

But then again, it's only a friendly so you never know...

Ah, Johnny Warren. That brings back memories. Did you know I used to be a neighbour at one time?

I know I'm dreaming Dark Knight, but I'm an optimist this week!

Wouldn't it be great if we:

1. had a team

2. had a coach

3. had an honest administration

4. had an administration

5. played some games

It could be done. The 100,000 attendances to soccer internationals in Melbourne have shown that.

BTW how ya goin'? How's things with you? We were away for a while on some R&R and got a taste for it. Might try it again soon! The favourite restaurant has expanded to include alfresco dining. Very nice.

Things are great! Glad to hear you're back from your time away. I definitely think we should meet up for some pizza at 'The Restaurant'. When are you and Mrs Ozzie up for it?

I've been working hard on the business and things are going well, plus I've moved house. I'd rather tell you all about it over a pizza though. Hope you got lots of pics.
