    Another reporter has made contact.

Even though they most likely will not get to interview him personally, I would love for a news report to be written that one of the 7 leaders of the Jehovah's Witnesses is in Australia right now. Someone that has the power to change these policies but he is refusing to come forward. Coward!

I understand this is a hard time for him and morally it feels wrong to get him involved at the moment. But, when you compare that to the 1000+ victims in Australia out of 65,000 witnesses in Australia and potential 100,000+ based on 8,000,000 worldwide, and think about their pain and suffering because of policies that he has the power to change... that puts this moral issue into proper perspective.

The JW organization claims it does "not discourage" members from reporting allegations of abuse to authorities such as the police.

But how do the elders "not discourage" reporting allegations to the police, when they tell a "solo" victim - who does not have another eye-witness to support her allegations - that she needs to have faith in Jehovah and "wait on Jehovah" because they cannot investigate her allegations?

Even the police would listen to her and take a statement.

"we don't discourage people from taking things further, but we will make the process we put them through scary enough so they are exhausted and don't want to anyway" ;)

    So true.

Those authoritative elders didn't hold up her allegations and they are supposed to speak for Jehovah.

Why would she even believe that worldly police would help her? If the elders couldn't and they were representing "God", she wouldn't think her testimony was good enough to go to the police.

Hell, the elders have even told her that, according to the Bible, it didn't happen.

I would call all that "discouraging behavior".

It may indeed be a hard time for him, but, on the other hand, it does not stop him from attending the meetings, probably giving talks, meeting with elders, going to field service etc. When a "high-up" visits another area for family reasons, he always finds time (and strength) for "theocratic" activities. So, why not find time and strength for this as well?

Why do you stick to the 2 witness rule from Deuteronomy 19:15 when the same book of the bible in Deuteronomy 22:28, 29 it says that a woman that was raped has to marry her rapist and you don't follow that?

This question will backfire as there is a New Testament version approx. the same.

It would be very enlightening if Jackson could be persuaded to give an interview.

The elders at the Commission keep repeating the mantra that they respect the dignity of victims to report abuse to the authorities and that they would not prevent them from doing that.

Compare that with the fact that over 1000 cases were not reported.

This is the lie that needs to be investigated with the Governing Body. Get to the bottom of the subtle pressures that prevent a victim from seeking justice.

Don't focus on the bible or interpretation in those quetions. Focus on JW internal procedures and culture. Ask about how reporting to the police was wieved upon in the 1980's and 90's (before 2010).

0 case of 1006 reported is not by chance......there must be som reson behind it.

What kind of a leader is G Jackson, that he won't come and defend his faith?

If a new Bible book was being written about this, he would be an example of cowardice and lack of faith. Someone who said "There they are, send them!"

The constant examples in the WT of being bold, taking a stand, relying on Jehovah. Children being told to stand up for their faith at school. JW's told to go to prison to defend their faith, or to carry on preaching in defiance of any ban.

The GB have a different set of rules to those they rule over, and both Gerrit Loesch and Geoffrey Jackson have now shown their true colours.

(Luke 12:11, 12) "When they bring you in before public assemblies, government officials, and authorities, do not become anxious about how or what you will speak in defense or what you will say, for the holy spirit will teach you in that very hour the things you should say.”

(Luke 21:12-15) "You will be brought before kings and governors for the sake of my name. It will result in your giving a witness. Therefore, resolve in your hearts not to rehearse beforehand how to make your defense, for I will give you words and wisdom that all your opposers together will not be able to resist or dispute."

(2 Timothy 2:15) "Do your utmost to present yourself approved to God, a workman with nothing to be ashamed of, handling the word of the truth aright."

(2 Timothy 4:1, 2) "I solemnly charge you before God and Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his manifestation and his Kingdom: Preach the word; be at it urgently in favorable times and difficult times"

    Well done Anonymous.

Has anyone noticed that Allison has asked us all to give her questions to ask him?

Maybe we could focus on that.

Here mine: 'Why does the official procedure for investigating child sexual abuse (as set out in your organisation's confidential elders manual) include a number of older men asking the child for explicit details of what happened to them? These delicate and potentially traumatic interviews should surely be carried out by trained professionals? ie police."

Also: ' Is it true that yourself and the other members of the Governing Body are ultimately responsible for setting out all procedures of how allegations of child sexual abuse are dealt with? Do you and the rest of GB decide what goes into the elders manuals?'

Wording could be better, but you get the idea..
