eye that was a really nice looking tree. We'll be cutting one down here right after Thanksgiving. I'll get some pics of it when it's lit up in all it's glory.

Awwww Lilacs your tree is lovely....I can't wait to put up our tree....I might do it this weekend, or next.....I haven't seen any trees for sale on the side of the road. I love the smell of pine in the house when the tree is up....thanks for posting your tree....I love your decorations....you have good taste.

We put up our little tree today, our first Xmas tree ever!!!!!!!!!!! The kids did most of the decorating, it is a mix of all kinds of colors and ornaments. The tree is not real tall, I didnt want a big one this year , but next year my daughter and hubby decided they want a white one. I have the pretty ornaments that XenaW gave me as a gift a couple of months back, and she gave me one to put on my tree to remember her by always. It is a Greenbay Packers globe ornament. I just love it, even thou we are Dallas Cowboy fans......lol......... shows how much I love my girl, XenaW huh???
I keep staring at the tree all day,,,,,,, and don't feel an ounce of worry if I have done anything wrong,,,,, you know the old JW thing....... I feel great about it. My daughter asked me why it is wrong to have a tree anyway,,,,, why is it wrong to celebrate Jesus birth,,,,,,( she does understand that no one knows what day Jesus was really born on), why is a tree so bad. We had a little talk about it, and we decided as long as we are doing something to show love and respect for Jesus , like our tree,,,,,,, it is a good thing, and not the evil the JW's said it was. We are getting excited for Thanksgiving dinner and our family sitting at the table , making this our first Thanksgiving too.
I took pics of my tree but with my 35mm,,,,,,,,,, will try to post them when I can.
We always have a big xmas....
When growing up, mom would be in the JW's one year and not the next, as far back as I can remember.... so we would have xmas and birthdays one year, and not the next.... on and on. The neighbors liked it tho... she would sell all her xmas decorations every few years, cheap, just to get rid of them. We never knew one year to the next if we would get gifts or not. Wierd, eh?
My wife taught me how to enjoy the holidays tho.... its for the kids and they enjoy it best of all. 2 years in a row, we did a live webcast of us all opening presents, so all the reletives could login and watch.... might do it again this year.
