Percentage increases are really worthless when you think about it. If one person starts a company and goes from having 1 customer who spends $10 a month to 5 customers who spend $20 a month that is good and the growth is amazing. Customers went up 500% and revenue went up 1000%. I'd certainly call that pretty good. However, a bigger company can go from having 100,000 customers paying $40 a month to having 110,000 customers paying $42 a month. There's not that much growth there if you're just looking at percentages but I'd take the latter over the former in a heartbeat.

Remember folks, just because there's a good percentage growth doesn't mean that its really all that amazing.

As they get so hung up on their increase every year and the fact that they supposedly get 1% baptised at each assembly i'd just like them to be able to view ours

I'll start a book in Dec- with a mystery prize up for grabs

The competition is open to all apostates in the UK (and Foreigners ) excepting management (Simon) and families (Angharrad and boys) and employees (Englishman and ...?) are forbidden to enter the competition.

    Syn-now you're scaring me!

    In all fairness,

I know this is going to piss some folks off, but facts are facts. This board was a little, sleepy coffee-shop board and then an explosion happened. A whole bunch of rather-notorious H20ers left H20 and came here in March 2001 or there abouts. A whole BUNCH of lurkers on H20 also migrated over here. I've watched the membership numbers since I came here and they don't lie. The number of readers and posters went from some to a gazillion in exponential fashion after the H20 exodus. There is no other explanation. People migrate to a place where the action is happening. The action is happening here now. The action was happening at H20 then.

But I still am convinced by observing the chronology and facts of growth on this board, that it has prospered because of that H20 exodus to here. I would love to hear Simon's observations on this. Perhaps I'm wrong.

Prisca is still wondering about what people's favorite salt-water taffy is, ignoring that salt-water taffy is not a major issue in the ex-JW world, and how to present it in a manner that will bring her the fame she so craves and that so eludes her.

    Farkel,

I arrived in March 2001 without ever having been on H20, although I did notice a lot of people coming here from that site.

I picked this place (as my internet community of choice) because I liked the format (easy to follow) and because I saw how newbies got great support and their questions responded to in an incredibly short time.

Personally, I think "WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE DONUT" is more related to the ex-JW world, since we all seemed to spend so much time in service on Saturday mornings searching for the perfect donut!

I stay on this board IN SPITE of FarkelDude!

Great forum, by way far mostly great people, and just enough lunacy to keep it unpredictable.

    A final comment,

    : Will Simon's beat the WTBS ?

Since this is the topic of this thread and since no one has even asked the obvious, then I must: Whoever said that Simon was interested in beating the WTS? He certainly never said it, and he certainly never even implied it.

Furthermore, NO one or no anyones can "beat" the WTS. They are a Cult. They are bottom-feeders and they live and exist feeding off of and sucking the lives out of people willing to be exploited and used up by them. Bottom-feeder-Cults are like that. The WTS can never be "beat" because unfortunately, they fulfill a need for some folks and if the WTS was ever "beat", then those poor folks would be hurt terribly. I vote to let the WTS stay and do their stuff. I also vote to let those with knowledge and a loud mouth **** THOSE LIARS in the WTS UP with their research and hard work.

But then again, I'm a passionate kind of of guy. After all, I'm a musician and a computer programmer and that is a left-right brain conundrum for me. I don't know when to be logical or when to be passionate. I live in a dilemma. It sucks.
