Name That Tune...

I thought it would be fun to do this.

Anybody can post a lyric from a recorded song. We have 5 "post-chances" to guess the song. You must guess within 5 posts

(by anybody) to be awarded the non-existent prize of nothing (except fun!) Then the "winner" can post a new lyric .

If the "tune" is not guessed within 5 posts, then the original poster has to reveal the song...then it's a new lyric...

    Sounds like fun to me...

    OK,

    Let's get started...

"I have often walked, down these streets before

But the pavement has always reached beneath my feet before..."

    No, Valis,

You're not right. And I hate to tell you, but you've only got 4 guesses left. Choose very carefully!

    I just love these games!

Anyway.....could the answer be: "On The Street Where You Live" by Vic Damone?

ps....if this is right, I don't have a new lyric to submit....YIKES!!....will that disqualify me????

It is "On the Street Where You Live". Is it from "Gigi"?

"I expect every one of my crowd to make fun of my proud protestations of faith in romance......"

"on the street where you live' is from My Fair Lady

I have often walked, down these streets before

But the pavement has always reached beneath my feet before..."

All at once am I several stories high knowing I'm on the street where you live

ohh the towering feeling just to know somehow you are near

the over powering feeling that any second you may suddenly appear

People stop and stare they don't bother me

for there's no where else on earth that I would rather be.

Let the time go by I don't care if I

can be here on the street where you live!!!!!!
