Hi john123; I'm really sorry to hear of your friend who is so ill.
I do some work for an ovarian cancer charity, as my mother and 3 friends died from the disease
.Unfortunately for OC sufferers the disease has very low survival rates -95% die within 3-5 years.If it is detected early 95% can be survivors- by early I mean when there are no symptoms and the problem was detected very early, usually during surgery for something else.
If your friend needs help or support she can get in touch with Ovacome who have a phone support system- if you want more info- just ask.i'll go and look up her story now; and by the way-miracles DO happen; many stories we have in the literature for the charity have included survivors' stories .The blood transfusion episode is unlikely to have affected anything.
