Do you think that being duped by some of the craftiest minds on earth could qualify as a major injustice? Giving your life for a falsehood? Allowing a loved one to die because of a misunderstood scripture? Refusing to even talk to a loved one because you are taught that God "hates" that person???
What Is The Greatest Injustice You've Encountered?

Geez, Its so scary how familiar these stories all are. You guys got awhile? Or maybe I should just post "my story". I will soon, but heres the readers digest version, pertaining to injustice & the jw's.
Someone mentioned cancer. My dad had cancer & when he was doing the reading of the watchtower, they took him aside & told him He could'nt sit to read anymore. He had to stand as it "looked bad". He died six mo. later, w/ no apology.
After that, his parents sued us/his estate for $20,000 dollars for the 3 mo. we lived w/ them. We were told we couldnt go to court to protect his assets. This same grandfather went to prison 6 yrs. later for ripping off elderly people. They were very wealthy, my grandparents.
We had to move 6 mo. later. A widow & 3 "fatherless boys". Did they help us? No, it was saturday. Everyone in service. Who helped? The mormons.
Our house burned while we were @ meeting. Who helped us while everyone else was Out in service? The poor, the slackers, the inactive. Actually, this has always been thie case, it's the ones that everyone looks down on who've always been there.
What about my brother & all the ones who never recieved justice after being raped? Being denied school? Being denied LIFE as a result of archaic medical opinions? Yeah, the jw's really do suck. In general. Poor bastards.

Any injustice to me personally, pales to the injustice in other people's lives.
I have always had food to eat and a decent place to live. I've had access to adequate medical treatment even when I was poor. I have never lived in a land torn apart by war or live in a land with the legacy of land mines. The water is relatively clean and drinkable and I don't have to walk 4 miles one way to get it. I have helped treat children who have been burned horribly by their parents, hold one woman's hand while we waited for the ambulance after her husband had beaten her to a pulp.
I used to feel sorry for myself because I felt my childhood was lost and could not be recovered. Then I looked around and realized that "normal" childhoods are rare in the world today. The trick is to live through childhood for many. I learned to be my own parent and I never think I am too old for things. I always wanted Lincoln logs when I was growing up. Now I have my own set and I play with them about once a month. It is also something for the kids who visit to play with.
I find that the injustices I suffered growing up don't poison my life any more and that the abusers are worse off than I am. I do what can to prevent and correct injustices.

avishai, That comment on how "it looks bad" for a brother with cancer to sit down while having the "privilege" to read the Watchtower is so typical. It's so inhumane! But if he was an elder it no doubt would have been different. I knew of a blind elder that used to give public talks while his German Shepherd stayed by him!!!......I wonder how your elders would have thought this too looked bad.

I can think of a couple injustices that really burned me.......
A few years ago, I started working as a temp in a unionized job. Seeing as I was a temp, I had absolutely no rights at all to any inside jobs, BUT, I still had to pay union dues........yep, they can charge you union dues without giving you any representation at all. Anyway, the job I was working in, was one that fit me like a glove. I absolutely loved it and everyone in that department was thrilled with the work I was doing for them (working many hours of overtime without getting paid to ensure all the work they gave me got done) and they ALL wanted me to stay. The job had been posted and one internal person applied. Even though this person was absolutely not qualified for the job, was lazy, incompentent and MISERABLE beyond belief, they hired her instead of me for the sole reason that she was "internal".
My spineless boss just kept saying "I don't have any choice" and was too weak and stupid to even TRY to hire me. Their Collective Agreement stated that a manager had one month to decide if the person was working out or not. If they weren't the manager could fire them. Even though it was clear within the first week that she could not or simply would not do the job properly, he wouldn't lift a finger to get rid of her. Her work habits were so bad that the management had to learn to do their own work, but nothing was ever done about the situation. I got royally screwed as far as I'm concerned.......and she ended up quitting that job and going to another department within a year.
