Some people need to be surrounded with"friends" to make themselves feel good.Others love their independence and prefer to be away from others. What type of person are you? Are you "out there"? Or do you tend to be away from the action?

My personal space starts about three miles away. If I can see you, you're standing too close.

I truly LOVE social interaction, the exchange and debate of ideas, etc, but I also need my personal time away from everyone. Early morning and late evening belongs to me STAY AWAY!

Depends. If people around me are self centered, yakky and nosy.....I'm a loner or I prefer to be. I have found wayyy too many people like this, unfortunately. People, even family, who never ask a question, don't inquire about me personally, my life or my thoughts.....just interested in monopolizing everything...I avoid. They just get on my nerves. Too, the JW thing has left me with some war wounds. I find it hard to trust and I probably question motives too much. And it's funny because when I was in high school and before I was a dub, I was voted "most popular" in my class

I stay close to those who truly love me but try to remain open for any opportunities to connect with others on a day to day basis. When it happens, and it does semi often, it's great.

I am such a misfit. There are times I love to be around people, other times I LOVE solitude. Must be because I was on my own in an apartment so long before marriage. However, I work better alone.

It really depends on the circumstances. I work with with people and there has to be a level of interaction, and oftentimes a very physical and psychologically intimate level in the nursing profession. Having said that, I'm rather quiet and reserved anyway. I withdraw when I'm focused on something important, and noise or bustle around me when I'm in that state is very distracting to me. I love spending time with people and having fun, but there are other times when I just need my space and need to withdraw and recharge my batteries. If don't get the chance to regroup with some solitude when I really need it, it has a very negative effect. My husband has learned that lesson the hard way.

Mornings, I need quiet and solitude to be set for the day. The rest of the day I am open to anything. But, it depends on my stress level too. So, I would say I need both. I am definitely a people person.
