Question for those still attending...is anyone talking?

We haven't been to a meeting or JW event in several years. We have been following the RC closely. It is fascinating! For those still attending, is anyone talking at the meetings, field service car groups or other JW events about what is going on in Australia? Just curious. Is this big to the JW's or are they not aware of the issues? We are in the U.S.

I frankly don't dare say anything in the congregation. I've talked to my roommate and I've posted about it on Facebook. But out of 500+ JW Facebook friends the same response Oppostate got... crickets

I had a conversation with an active witness in western Canada. Had no knowledge of it. Had no knowledge of other cases as well. This person was somewhat surprised and shaken by the information and couldn't believe these cases were purposely hidden by the org. and elders.

First there's going to be that feeling of denial and disbelief then the media exposure needs to permeate the consciousness and lead to troubling dissonance.

The doubts will be there waiting for some personal shakeup that leads to awakening out of the cult.

Nothing here in the U.S. I pointed it out to my mom and then her and my dad read an article on it. But beyond that. NOTHING.

I mentioned it to a pioneer. She said she doesn't follow anything like that. And after all these are probably lies because the JW broadcast warned about this in last months' broadcast. Cognitive dissonance at its best.

So frustrating! We can only hope that all of this will mushroom into a major News story. We have contacted several news media sources. Let's hope it will explode into something BIG here in the United States. Every ounce of contact we have with the News Media is a plus. We kudo Barbara Anderson and others who have worked so hard on getting the right info into the correct hands.
