Why don't they pull the fire alarm at the assembly??? That would be one way to pass the time, lol
The Assembly is the place where they spend hour upon hour under the influence of a high control group where day upon day they subtly yet systematically are taught to think more highly of themselves than is normal and to look down upon and to disregard "worldly" people and their organizations. They've built up such a level of physical and mental energy and frustration that it has to explode in some form or another. They are able to unleash it upon those who they feel are deserving and in this case the hotel staff is their first contact with non Witnesses authority all day.
J.W.'s are told by the Org that J.W.'s are different from "people in the world".
Nope!!! Just returned from the Scottish R.C. in Glasgow, and J.W.'s exhibit the same behaviours and attitudes as non-J.W.'s!
1) Standard of dress of both sexes same as worldlies! Metro-sexual and as revealing as possible.
2) Huge queues before the venue opened - to get all the best seats. (Seek not your own advantage...blah blah!
3) J.W.'s deliberately walking on the clearly marked cycle-lane on an overpass walkway for people & cycles.
4) Despite announcements each day not to do it, I watched very many fit, healthy, and young people occupy seats in the area designated and marked exclusively for elderly & infirm! (including one of the Glorious Ones and his wife, from my own congregation)
Same standards at every convention I've ever attended.
Oh the delicious irony of it all!
Who can blame JW children for falsely setting of alarms when the JW organization has itself been falsely setting of alarms for almost 140 years.
The little darlings.
I saw at the Convention in Scotland many young women, married and unmarried wearing very revealing skin tight clothes...
I saw brothers wear skin tight suits, some in positions of authority...we arrived an hour before it started each morning and struggled to find seats with one person booking 40 odd seats for others which is not supposed to happen.
I got stood on, whacked by a wheelchair and had many attendants gossiping away ignoring help that was needed by others...
And they say JW's are the reflection of Jehovah...well he must be a right dick then.

When ever there is a new presentation on dress and grooming, you can bet all your money that it is more than likely because these have become issues in the JW organization. I remember in the 1960s when sisters were endlessly cautioned - and even warned - about wearing miniskirts - it was a huge issue in local congregations and the Presiding Overseer (this was before the elder arrangement) was very blunt about the matter. One sister adorned in a very revealing miniskirt who was about to do her part on the Ministry School was called outside the Hall and told to go home and change into a more appropriate dress. She did so and there was a slight re-arrangement in the order of the program that night.
Even though this happened out of ear shot of the congregation, we knew why she was being seen outside the hall and the gossip mill wasn't needed because she turned up later in a different (ahem, more modest) dress.
There was a special tal kthe following week on miniskirts and (for men) avoiding colored shirts and side burns.
Lecture, lecture, lecture. No much changes.
