  One thing that just struck me:

  JWs have for a long time recruited from the Catholic Church. They always prepare a lot of material around explaining the Catholic Doctrines and why theirs are better and many JWs were brought up as Catholics.

  The Catholic Church has probably just had their worst year ever (well, in recent times) due largely to the well publicised child abuse scandals and no doubt have lost many people ... who would no doubt be ripe for recruiting by the WTS who have had slightly less publicity about their own child abuse problems.

  This could possibly distort the figures somewhat ... what do you think?

  It's true that the witnesses feed on the catholics, but there is also 9/11 that boosted the numbers.

  I just read in the paper, yesterday, that the Protestants have actively come out to show dissatisfied Catholics that there is another approach to God. Of course the JW's have been doing it for 100 yrs.

  What's sad from a JW viewpoint at least, is that at last they have a legitimate flaw/shortcoming of the Catholic Church in their handling of this scandal, but since they have their own problems in this area, its kind of hard to point a finger.

  I think that a lot of catholics are just easy pickings for the jw's cause they are not encouraged to read their bible so much. It seems the majority of catholics rely heavily on church traditions. Just a thought.

  I just love the fact that control freaks like the Catholic Church, some Protestant Churches and ALL of the evangelical churches, (not to mention the Muslims, Orthodox Jews and any other control-freaks in that ilk) PLUS the REAL control freaks like the Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Scientologists and any other pathetic, manipulating evil Cults I've forgotten, are being exposed for what they are these days.

  It's about feaking time that these evil, killing bastards are being exposed for being the bastards they are. I've got LOTS of evidence to prove this. LOTS.

  Well internet is a very heavy tool fore satan one elder tell me, when i tell him whats happend on our backyard and what im read on internet. Internet is a vocie fore the vociles, perhaps from the lord himself, who nows?

  Sometime I wonder about why internet was sett upp just in this times, so evryone can look on thing they never could before.

  Happyman, I often wondered the same thing. The witnesses say "The truth shall set you free". Maybe it is the internet that will set you free. Eyes being opened to see the light, Maybe it is the internet? Makes one think.
