I remember when I became a publisher, I just started turning in time slips and trying to get that .30 for each set of magazines I sold. Of course, we were supposed to keep the money to buy more magazines...but mine always went to BREAK -TIME!

No time reports are accepted from non-publishers. Publishers do indeed include children of adult JW's as I mentioned earlier.
Even children have to meet with the elders before they can turn in time reports. Of course other smaller children tag along in the ministry with their parents (before they're old enough to become publishers).

Funny, they probably don't ask the prospective publishers what they think of child molestation.
Gopher, ah I see. I guess that was what I was getting at when I edited my above post to add "AND the elders have 'approved' you" - there is a process you have to go through to be considered 'an unbaptised publisher' or whatever they call them today.
You can have the PRIVILEDGE of being a publisher removed even if you are not baptised and you do something wrong. They will announced that so and so is no longer an unbaptised publisher. I've seen this quite frequently with kids who in their teenage years become a bit rebellious.
A Publisher is another name for a SUCKER!!
The way it happened with me was this.
First I had to be interviewed to see if I was good enough to join the Ministry School
Then I had an interview to see if I was good enough to called a Publisher (un unbaptised one)
Then I had to have an interview to see if I was good enough to get baptised.
Now I am waiting for an interview to see if they are going to 'sack' me!

though I would bet that if you factor in the number of non-reporting baptised JWs (who are NOT counted in the # of pubs) then the figures may even out.
