What did you do with your clothes? (page 3)

My suits and four raincoats (Pacific northwest) are in the guest room closet gathering dust. I have noticed several new consignment shops have opened up in my area, and I keep thinking I could make a few dollars off my old jw wear....but then I know perfectly well the local sisters probably stop by these consignment shops daily, and I can't stand the thought of one of them wearing my old clothes...guess goodwill will get them eventually.

Hey Makena, you know you look much better in you b-day suit than any business suit!!

I got rid of all my stuff recently, especially the shoes. Sent them all to a thrift store.

Sabine, I saved 5 suits, too new and expensive to give away, and called the consignment shops to find out when I could bring them in. NONE of them take women's suits. I was shocked. One place said they would look at them, but they had to be freshly dry cleaned. Forget it!! I still have them in the closet. Maybe I will fit into them again some day, if they aren't terribly out of style by then.

ive worn my suits once since leaving the borg( to a funeral) and then gave all to my father in law except for ties.. my kids found they make excellent ropes to tie up playmates with.... my wife wont go for it though. hey LB maybe thats what you can use your ties for, find a girl thats kinky and you are set.

One outfit,I tore up and made a hallowe'en costume..I made a roman outfit...looked nice too

The other ones are soooo modest,I would never wear again.the others I threw away.

My dresses probably weren't that appropriate to wear to the hall but since I had to wear a dress I bought ones that I really liked. Now they mainly just hang in my clost because they are too dressy to wear to work or church for that matter. I had a " Murder Mystery Dinner Party " at my house a few weeks ago and the women that were invited dug through my closet and we all got very glamourous and dressed up!! It was so much fun.

In a word? "Goodwill". Figured the tax write off for the donation was more good than they had ever done for me before. I'm proud to say that I have not had anything dressier in my closet than a pair of Dockers in the last 4 years.

I started to wear them as work clothes as I am an office worker and the classic look was my style as a JW and still is, so the clothes easily transferred to be office wear.
