Welcome Ezra!
I'ld bet he'll be back. He'll be prepared (as best he can) and I think he'll have someone with him. Dollars to doughnuts he explains how Satan has lain down traps and your only mistake is bothering to read anything that is not directly produced from the Society.
I've occasionally thought what great fun it would be to 'study' with a JW and see if I could get past their indoctrination with a few well-placed questions. But really, I would much rather they just stay away.
Keep us updated.
That was very Rude! His is suppose to be teaching and answering ALL of YOUR Q's. What good is a teacher if s/he doesn't give you the answers/solutions. You should write a letter to the ORG and see what they say. It's worth a shot, right.
Ezra, don't worry, you can't be disfellowshipped unless you're baptized.........if you're just studying with this elder they can't do anything to you.
Either he'll never be back or, as has already been suggested, he'll be back with a mouthful of excuses and show you "from the scriptures" how "the god of this System of Things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers" (1Cor 4:4) or how Satan "walks around like a roaring lion, waiting to devour someone", and that your only hope of escaping his clutches is to right in the middle of the Borganization. He'll tell you how the pedophile and/or UN scandal is just a bunch of lies made up by "apostates" and that it's "Satan persecuting Jehovah's Organization".....after all, didn't the Pharisees make up lies about Jesus? Didn't they have him put to death on trumped-up charges? We can well expect that Satan would do the same today......after all, "the time left is reduced" and "we're on the threshold of the Great Tribulation", blah, blah, blah......
If he DOES come back, don't let him flit from topic to topic. Ask him how he KNOWS that it's all lies.......and watch him walk out the door again........
And don't forget "A religion that says it has all the answers, allows no questions."

they kind of remind me of little kids who when they don't know what to say they clam up. and no you won't be disfellowshipped if you are not baptized. just continue to arm yourself with knowledge if they return aka -- sharpen your sword.
If he just got up and left in the middle of a study I doubt you will ever see him intentionally trying to get in touch with you again. He's obviously done.
What did you expect? After all, it IS a cult!

Craig <------visualizing 6,000,000 nekked JWs going from door-to-door
Good point mary .I have experienced this first hand. They will demonize anyone who questions anything the WT says or does. It's not about a bible "study" it's about you accepting everything ever written in a WT publications as undisputed fact and truth. Ona - I shudder at the thought other than some of the single hot women I've seen in the Org. But most are obeese and old .
You probably met some other JWs too, so now recall their names, compile a mailing list and quietly mail them those same questions which are floating all over the planet right now so that the elder can't be sure where mailings came from. This will teach them that the old walk out tactic backfires. Questions not answered become a greater fire. Same thing with Ted Jarasz gutlessly not answering Pat Garza's saying he molested her and others while a District Overseer in Los Angeles before he was put on the Gov Body.
