Condemned By Your 'Lack' Of Words!

Jesus once mentioned that some people would be condemned by their own words. I think you can also be condemned by your 'lack' of words.

The Watchtower in times past would not miss a beat to condemn the Catholic Church for any unChristian infraction and highlight that in Watchtower publications! To my knowledge nothing at all has been said or printed what-so-ever about the Catholic Church's Priest/pedophile problem to date! Has anyone read anything?

I think they know..............don't they that 'the pot can't call the kettle black'!

    That is brilliant!

Why have I never noticed that before? JWs are always running down the Catholic Church, but I don't remember them doing it for those reasons. I'd also be interested to know if there were any articles condemning them for child abuse.

Hi Outaservice: The Society has in times past made note of sexual indiscretions by Catholic Priests including any homosexual conduct or pedophile act. These are almost always found in the Awake! "Watching the World" little snips ... I did a search i=on their CD Rom and found only a few instances where the terms 'pedophile' or 'child molester' are used ... at least compared to how much they use other terms. The crime of pedophilia is just not a focus of the Watchtower leaders.

Yes, one can be condemned for their lack of words. Remember when the 12 spies went into the promised land and only 2 gave a favorable report causing the Nation of Israel to chicken out and not go in? Who paid the price? That's right --- every man 30 years of age and older.

Why? Because they didn't speak up when they should have.

I think we have a similar situation going on right now. We have genuine apostates running the Organization right now and disgracing Jehovah's name every time they turn around. Many know that this is the case, yet they stay in and maintain silence, hoping that someone else will come along and do something about it, while pretending that everything is all right. They are more concerned about their hides than they are about His name.

I think both courses of action will have the same ending.

Yes, Watchtower monitors --- I'm speaking of you and your cronies.

Lone Wolf, do you think that if the apostates could be rooted out, that Jehovah would bestow blessings on the "organization"?

Personally, I feel that the Organization is too far gone for it to have any redeeming value as far as "Jehovah" is concerned. Maybe "Jehovah" is so far removed from the Organization now (if he ever was a part of it) that he's just an observer, watching it nosedive and spiral into destruction.

I also find it interesting that they are unusually quiet about other churches now - at least from the JWs that I know - there must be so much negative publicity about them on-line since the UN association became known, the Silent Lambs issue, the EPA fines they've had to pay for "ruining the earth", and the alleged military contracts, plus the flim-flam of the blood issue - that there's nothing any other church has done that the WTS is not also doing.

The truly good people have been leaving the organization out of respect for their conscience. Rather than respecting the conscientious choices of these individuals, the Organization chooses to attempt to silence them with shunning and beat their fellow slaves with emotional blackmail and putting rifts in families. It shows them for what they really are.

Scully - I have never heard this. But then, I only found out about the UN scandal 3 weeks ago, so I'm obviously not the brightest person in the world. Can't imagine how I missed it - I do read the papers but somehow I missed those stories.

When I became a JW in 1992-1993, there was still quite a bit of vitriol being spewed in the various WT publications about Babylon the Great and the Clergy Man of Lawlessness - False religion was still the big bad enemy they focused on.

But I guess they can only have one solid enemy to focus the dubs attention on, and "apostates" are it. I heard fewer and fewer references to 'false religion' and the like my last couple of years in. But the warnings about apostates and the internet seemed to never stop. Whereas "Babylon the Great" once was one of the strongest trigger words in the JW lexicon, I think that words like "internet" and "apostate" are much stronger emotional trigger words for current JWs.

If the current crisis in the Catholic Church had happened 20 or 30 years ago, I think it would have been a cover story in the WT. It would be the ultimate hypocrisy if they did something like that now.

They who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. From henceforth the W.T. Society will have to clean up its own house before it can point the finger at someone else.
