Living in a dangerous world

A few years ago, I watched a tv program saying that Nuclear bombs were missing from the former Soviet Union's arsenal. They call them suitcase bombs, since they can fit in a suitcase or backpack. Today, I read an article that stated the same thing, but they are quit sure now that Bin Laden has a few of these in his possession. Does this scare you to know that he probably does?

An other article, states the same thing. This one is more recent

I heard this a year ago. No nuked cities yet, but I suppose it's possible. To me it's kind of like the possibility of getting hit by a meteorite: there's not a thing I can do about it, and worrying is pointless. If it happens, it happens. If Dallas gets nuked, I reckon I won't know what hit me. If the US government topples and anarchy reigns, it probably won't be two weeks before we're all killing each other over things like canned food and the remaining water in the toilet tanks and hot water heaters of our houses.

Keep your weapons in working order, and hope for the best.

This is scary. Large nations having access to these weapons is one thing, as I believe that most of the nations leaders would be very responsible with them. But to have someone like Bin Laden having access, now that is totally another matter.

One thing I think many people need to realize is this: No matter what the US or other "Western" country does, they will face the wrath of a nut who wants to dominate.

Some people will suggest that if we didn't bother people like Saddam or Bin Laden, that they would not bother us. Not true. Bin Laden believes that we must be destroyed, in his own little version of his religion. So it does not matter what we do, whether we attack him or not. He will stop at nothing to destroy us and what we stand for.

Look at what happened on 9-11. That is nothing compared to what could happen with a nuclear device in a populated area. All you need is a few people to put something like that together. Last year we had untold people working together to hit the towers, and 19 to volunteer to do it. One suitcase, one suicide bomber, would create a huge mess.

That act alone could possibly cause more destruction worldwide than we have ever seen. It might be done to us, then the US returns fire. Oh, Bin Laden is somewhere over there, we will just level the whole place. Scary to think what could happen.

That is one of many reasons that I think these people who want world domination at any cost, must be destroyed now, before we give up millions of lives. Imagine a nuke in New York, LA, or any other major city. You want to see lives ruined by loss of loved ones, and then to imagine the economy afterwards. These nuts need to be stopped.

I believe the terrorists would tell you that's what they're trying to do.

Would it be likely that the US would negotiate with such a person if ever there was no solution to the growing problem? When we look at other hot spots on the planet, there is the axis of evil (Iraq,Iran,North Korea) who are about to be nuclear. I guess at one point, the US will have to either deal with these countries or go to war with them. China is a growing rival. Russia is unpredictable. India and Pakistan almost went to war recently. Maybe a world government is the only solution in the eyes of the world.

COMF: The only problem with getting nuked is, the probability of your being near enough to Ground Zero to die instantly is a small one. More likely you will die from radiation poisoning. Aren't I cheerful today?

I work in the heart of downtown Dallas, Syn, on the 24th floor of one of those buildings that shape the skyline. If they take out Dallas I will be floating molecules.
