To be honest the only reason Id leave is if Simon went . If he handed over to someone else....

What Would Make You Stop Posting Here?

    1. Time and unforeseen occurrence.

    2. When there's no-one left to rescue from the Borg.

geesh if I stopped posting because somebody/body's tried to name call and bully me off I would have left loooooooooooooooooong ago. I'm not quite that easy to push around. But I might stop posting if the board was turned over to someone else. The idea of "trusting" people on the internet with personal info is scary, owner or not. I am not the least bit concerned that simon and ang would do anything sleezy with my IP or anything else. I seriously doubt that I will be joining anymore DBs on the internet. I've joined several that I just can not stay interested in . It only takes about a week to a month for me to get tired of them. Heck the amount of time I spent posting and reading here is a miracle in it's self.

Now if I only had email and im. My son and a couple of his friends supprised me by speeding up the performance of my computer so that it now downloads from kaza lightening fast! yippeeee. And all they had to do was remove most of "my programs" and "my documents" Which in turn disabled almost everything that was left due to missing applications that were shared files.......yadda yadda yadda. I thought it would be ok I would just do a simple system restore, LOL Even my restore points are gone. Along with my system history. sigh sniffel hohummmm. BUT! I still managed to post it!

    Minimus,

I suspect that pretty soon I'll stop posting and coming to this site altogether because I find it all to be so redundant and small in nature.

People here are somewhat sickly obsessed with the Jehovah's Witnesses and their behavior, and there's no need for that!

Let's say that someone didn't agree with a religious organization, that there's nothing in it for them, that it doesn't satisfy what they're in search of, well, in that case then leave and continue on with new chapters in your life. Simple!!!

I mean, why continue marinating in discontent and bitterness?! Completely pointless.

Then I've tried entering the chat room thinking something interesting and profound is going on there, but what I find is an obscene bunch! Come now, no wonder the vast majority of you all didn't fit in!

So, yeah, that's my answer to your question.

    Take care!

I'm sorry that is how you see this place. I don't know if you have been reading longer than you have been posting but 10 days isn't a real lot of time to give it. Maybe with some more time you may see more value in it.

For you, there may be "no need for that" but for others here, there is. The people who come here are in various stages of the healing process and each has their own road to travel with it. In addition to that, each person has their own history with the JW religion and how it has affected them and they need to be able to feel that it's okay to take the path of healing that is comfortable for them without judgement.

You may feel that it's "Simple" to "continue on with new chapters of your life" but for many, it is not a simple thing. For many, they don't even know what their life is all about because for as long as they've ever known, their life was about something they have now discovered to be totally untrue. The have to dismantle all of that and then rebuild a life for themselves and it is anything but simple. Many don't even know who "they" are because the very person that existed as them before this was so wrapped up in what the WTS determined they should be. Add to it the internal manifestations of abuse and maybe current shunning etc. There are far too many facets of the healing from this to boil it down to "simple". Again, for you, it may be- for others it isn't.

For many- there is a "need for that". It may not still be there a month from now or a year from now but for them- right now- the need is there. To say that they are "sickly obsessed" is a generalization that is unfair and IMO, judgemental. And that is what they have lived so much of their lives with- judgement. Here, they are free to follow their own path of healing, fall down and have so many others help them up and continue on again without the kind of judgement they have experienced in their past.

I mean, why continue marinating in discontent and bitterness?! Completely pointless.

It isn't pointless. One of the stages of healing is anger. And it is far from pointless. Yes, if folks get stuck in that stage it isn't healthy but you really have no idea what stage anyone here happens to be in or how long they have been in that stage. They need to be able to heal at their own pace and on their own terms.

Then I've tried entering the chat room thinking something interesting and profound is going on there, but what I find is an obscene bunch! Come now, no wonder the vast majority of you all didn't fit in!

If you entered the chat room looking for something interesting and profound going on then your expectations were too high to begin with. The chat room is seldom a place for any profundity. It's usually a place for folks to let the pressures of their day go and have some fun. Profoundly absurd at times, yes but it's all in good humor and fun. There are times when you can get into a deep discussion about a topic in there, but there are usually too many people in there to sustain it. If you want to have a specific discussion with someone in the chat room, enter when there are not alot of people in there and you may have better luck. I highly doubt anyone's behavior or choice of topics in the chat room has anything to do with their not fitting in anywhere.

I hope that you decide to give this place more of a chance. It really is quite a community here but you also get what you give here.

    My 145 cents

    XW
