Doubting Bro
Yet the problem is that according to the teachings, the org went through a "cleansing" period and entered a spiritual paradise. Either they are the restored true Christian congregation or not. Of course, there are so many holes in their end times teaching that this is simply one more. And most JWs don't even know their own teachings so it's super easy to spin it anyway you want. -

People in desperate need of salvation, peer acceptance and accolades will hold on to whatever the conduit is offering them these, whatever the cost may be. -

"Oh, just like Jehovah used the Babylonians, then the Romans, to cleanse his organization, he's using this worldly organization to do so now. Praise Jah!""The Royal Commission is how Jehovah is fixing it"
That is FANTASTIC!
Politicians don't think to spin shit like this?

YES, the Royal Commission is gonna fix the one true org of God. Just like the IRS fixes everything for me so I can't be materialistic. The IRS is from God, is it not? [insert Phyllis Diller laugh]

Lemonparty.
Me: "Have you read about the Royal Commission? The Org has been covering up child abuse. The head of Australia branch gave evidence and even lied to try stop them calling a GB member to testify!"
Him: "I am not talking about this"
Me: "That's ok, as long as you are aware"
"Its just screwed up that the branch documents show its ok to appoint a pedo elder"
Him: 'I said I don't want to talk about it, i agree it is not right, but let jah deal with it"
Me: "Sorry, don't worry. As long as you keep informed, that's what I'm asking"
Him: "The Royal Commission is how Jehovah is fixing it"That sounds totally normal for a conversation with a JW.
Nevertheless, Im sorry Lemonparty, I know its rough.

Breakfast of Champions nailed it.
To a totally sold JW, absolutely everything is proof that the WT is God's organization.

Call me ever hopeful - but this could actually be an ever so slight chink in the armor. If you follow the thinking process here, they're at least acknowledging that something was DEEPLY flawed with how the GB was and has been handling things for a very long time, instead of falling back on "it's all lies" or unwarranted "persecution!!". This line of thought at least brings them out of boot step with the GB being godhead and acknowledging that there is something or someone higher (what they call "Jehovah") that can discipline or trump the GB. To my mind this is a huge leap for typical JW mindset, especially in light of the fact that over the last few years it seems, the GB is more and more trying to set themselves up as JW's personal godhead and actually distancing the RF from the One True God.

It would take a courageous, confident JW to openly acknowledge their organization's policies and procedures on responding to allegations of child sexual abuse need to be scrutinized by a government-appointed Commission of Inquiry, especially to acknowledge that to someone who is out of the organization.
Face-saving explains a lot of the JW's routine responses.
This is much more about religious pride than the quest for the truth. But in the quiet corners of their hearts, when all the defensive rhetoric settles down and they're alone with themselves, doubts could be expected to seep into consciousness...
