Xbox specs are more impressive than the PS2. However,they only have about 20% of the market even with all of Microsofts money to promote it. There are only a few good games. The playstaion 3 is already in development for 2004-2005 release. There is no way XBox will ever catch up. Developers have no incentive to produce games specifically for XBox. Games are what counts. Nintendo 64 was technically a better system than the PS1, but it didn't matter cuz the games sucked. Well except for Goldeneye. XBox has Halo and thats about it. PS2 has MOH,GTA3,GTA:Vice City, Metal Gear Solid (which graphically is as good as any MS game imho), SSX,SSX Tricky, GT3, SOCOM, etc etc. It's worth getting the PS2 just for Metal Gear, and GTA3. Did I mention that the XBox controller is a monstrosity invented by evil men?
And yeah a PC can outperform all of these, if you don't mind spending more on a top end graphics card than the total price of a console. Then load it to you HD. Then download patches every other month.
