Make no mistake, no lawyer of this calibre asks questions that they don't already know the answers to, and know them thoroughly.
Everyone on this Royal Commission is about as well informed as anyone could possibly be regarding the WTS, the GB, the policies and procedures, etc. The questions the RC are asking and the answers from Geoff et al are simply allowing the WTS/GB to paint themselves into a corner from which they cannot extricate themselves. They demonstrate the complete lack of empathy for victims of child sexual abuse (including family members who have also been 'groomed' by the perpetrators into being included in their circle of friends); a complete disregard for the likelihood of further psychological harm coming to the victim when they have to testify against the person who violated them, with said person present, and with not a single support person sitting on behalf of the victim.
