Overseer's Visit & Hypocrisy

I have always known there was hypocrisy surrounding the CO visit. The Bull S*** that went on weeks before his arrival was enoungh to make you ill. My dad was out every night of the week before the CO came for his visit. Also in the last congregation I was in and in most I am sure the elders would make a shepherding call on you and see how you were doing. Right, one week before the COs visit, my my how transparent can they be. Some times the elders would never talk to my ex- husband because he was a real pain but when the CO was there they were peaches and cream towards him. God it use to make me ill. One time a CO promised to visit me in the hospital after the memorial. I had had an operation and couldn't get up and leave as I was on drainage tubes and IVs so I was all prettyed up for his visit and he didn't even show up, no phone call no nothing. He didn't forget. He just didn't come. So when I saw him I let him know in no uncertain terms how I felt about him. I told him if you promise someone you are going to do something like this especially on the evening of the memorial and then back out and don't even call the hospital to let me know I think it is terrible. I really embarressed him big time. But in my opinion he deserved it and then some. My ex husband thought it was cool that I blasted the CO but I only blasted the CO because he broke his promise. But my ex has a strange warped way about him.
When the CO has paid me a visit from time to time over the years the elders with him tried to make it seem that they made regular visits to see how I was doing. Which was not the case. They never visited. I spoke to to them at the hall casually but that was all. Like I said they liked to make a good impression for the CO.
Well now that Orangefatcat is pissed about this I will try and forget it and go to my kitty bed and sleep it off.

Most COs are stinking parasites. The sooner they go, the better. I'd like to see all of them digging ditches for a living.

The CO visit was supposed to be an time of encouragement. NOT! Only the brown nosers were happy, or those totally ignorant. I am so happy not to be a part of the whole charade .

My hubby and a few of his elder friends, always called it The Week of Special Agony. (as opposed to The Week of Special Activity)
Hey Jimbob............how are things going for you guys? Any showdowns with the folks yet?
