For those who may have voted for our idiot governor in California, he just announced today (after re-election of course) that OOOPS!! our state budget is 38 billion more in the hole than we thought.
Like he didn't know this before. AND, now he will try to raise taxes to make up for this.
To put this in perspective, that deficit is larger than all other states TOTAL budget, except for New York.
And we got four more years of this?

Perhaps while you're bashing HIM, you could tell me why the Feds REFUSED to step in during the power crisis (Which the previous republican government created by "deregulating energy").
Tell me, why the Feds can legislate whethere or not someone can smoke a joint, but when it comes to THE WHOLE state getting ripped off by Bush cronies, they're nowhere to be found.

Well, I'm part of "everyone" and have lived in California for three and a half decades and I don't see how Bill Simon would have "raped" us at all.
You blamed the republicans for de-regulating energy companies, but conveniently forgot that it was goobernur Davis who made the most stupid deal with the energy companies possible. You also conveniently forgot that Davis took office with a huge budget surplus and finished his first term with the largest California deficit in history. Same thing happened with Edmund G. Brown and his son, "Moonbeam" Brown. It is against our State's constitution to spend more than it takes in and that makes the three liberal (communist) governors I just mentioned criminals.
Reagan inherited a huge deficit when he began office and left a huge surplus when he finished his second term. That's why liberals hate him: they like to do "good" things for people with everyone else's money, not their own money.
Maybe I'm stupid, or something.

Awwwwwwww, give it a break Lisa. We aren't having those problems here in Texas because George Bush was the Govener before he became President. Apparently you are saying the whole state was ripped off because the feds refused to step in with a bunch of money. California went for ten years without building any power plants while the population exploded and then when the power runs short they start begging for help elsewhere. Take care of your own problems or move to Texas where the problems are take care of.

Let me second what Shutterbug said. The deregulation didn't create the energy crisis those Eco-nuts you have on the left coast were as much to blame for California's energy crunch as was ENRON. ENRON, whose Chairman was golf buds not with BUSH but with Clinton.
The amazing part is that right before the election Davis was saying the deficit was gonna be "only" 22 Billion. Now, after the election he discovers it will actually be 38 Billion. HOW CONVENIENT!
Bill O'Reilly predicted in October that Davis would raise taxes. California, you elected him, you keep him, but don't expect the rest of the country to pay for your Eco-lunacy.
Hey, I am having dinner and some cigars with Arnold Schwarzenegger January the 6 th at his restaurant in Santa Monica and I will be begging him to run in 2006!
