It's fine to study JW's, but you need to know going in that their "Bible studies" are always using a WT book that has a few scriptures cited. In other words, they use the Bible to support THEIR teachings instead of using their teachings to support the Bible. BIG difference. Their history is chock full of going beyond what is written. A "good" witness is expected, no required, to believe everything that comes from the WT comes from Jehovah. If this were true, then you would expect to see a far better history than what their so-called "one true religion" has demonstrated. A good start would be to look at the Bible's teaching regarding the return of Jesus. The WT waives all that off as figurative, in fact, they'll try to tell you that he ALREADY returned and that all but JW's missed it. Moreover, they've said he would return before, first visibly, then invisibly, then a new date...the world was supposed to end so many times I lost count according to the WT.
People here have lived it, I've only studied it for the last 2 years. Like I said, it's fine you want to study them and their teachings, spend EXACTLY the same amount of time studying the opposing viewpoint and you will arrive at the truth. Be advised that their literature, the books and mags, are all very deceiving. They sound very convincing and are easy to believe.
My own personal opinion after a zillion hours of research, study, meetings, and prayers is that the WTS is a dangerous thing. The wolf in sheeps clothing the Bible speaks of that deceives many.
Accept only the truth, and you'll be fine, but make sure it's the truth. The work will be rewarding. You have no idea what a blessing it is that you stumbled accross this site. There are thousands of years experience with the WTS in here. You should give them as much attention as you do the JW's, take note of how much they will discourage you, even condemn you for researching here. BOTH sides of a story give you the big picture. Be careful!
I understand that but if they are ex jw then why are they mention happy xmas ? Its startling me and xmas is terrible and false you know ?
And I want to know if you have the scripture of when Jesus were born ? I was told about in October but is there a proof ? Thanks!.
There is a Nazarene custom that they do not cut their hair. So Jesus was raised as a Nazarene, so naturally like everyone else in that city, he had long hair. Plus he was easily identified as a Nazerene because of his hair, how else people in the bible recognized him as being one?
Its startling me and xmas is terrible and false you know ?
Yeah, it's really terrible for families to get together and exchange gifts. Horrible, even.

Hi!
I know about xmas and every time I entered the forum. I see happy xmas etc here so I understand that there is ex jw but thats silly, dont you think ? If they are ex jw and are no longer jw..they should not come here because it is JW forum..maybe I am wrong but...
I remembered somewhere in the jw bible book scripture mentioned that Jah view women as long hair and men as short hair...is there a proof that Jesus was wear long hair or short hair ? I am not sure even thought I need a proof in the bible of jehovah's own word. Is there a scripture ? Thanks!

Rockmangames,
There is no scripture that describes the length of Jesus' hair. Who cares anyway? Are you just as worried about whether Buddha had a big fat belly? Did Zeus wear a toga? Does Satan have horns and a ptchfork? It's all fiction, man.

Rockman,
Do yourself a favor and study the viewpoint of people opposing the JW's, take your time to explore this forum and others, and above all analyze EVERTYHING the WT tells you. I don't want to preach but if you become a witness, you will be making the biggest mistake you'll ever regret. Many people here left the WTBTS for a number of evils and false teachings that they (the WT) will not tell you about. Trust the people here and realize that you will only be hurt by becoming a JW.
Hi Rockman,
According to Old Test. Jewish law a man could not cut his beard or the sidelocks of his head, therefore, Jesus would have had a long beard and hair by the time he began his ministry. The Watch Tower used to show Jesus with short hair and no beard because Rutherford didn't like beards but this shows how little they knew about the Bible since it clearly states that the Roman soldiers pulled Jesus' beard and spat in his face and also because of the beard in Jewish law/tradition. Once this fact of the bearded Jesus was too difficult to deny the Watch Tower changed Jesus' appearance to short modern styled hair and a closely trimmed beard, simply not possible for a devout Jew of this era nor true to the Bible, but the Watch Tower doesn't care about accuracy. This is just one of many lies told by the Watch Tower Society in its long histoy of false predictions, unbiblical man made rules, and misinterpretations of scripture.
I hope you are not a native English speaker, if you are then I suggest taking some refresher courses in basic grammer. I suspect you are pulling our apostate legs with your broken English and "shock" that a normal pearson could wish someone a merry Christmas but thought I'd answer in case you are a real study. Do some research because these JWs don't know what they are talking about. Jehovah doesn't care about Birthdays and they were never condemned in the Bible. This is just another man made teaching of the WT. Do yourself a favor and really study history, science, and the Bible without the Watch Tower propoganda.
