I was thinking along the same line as Dana. Do it for the poor kids who may be in your same shoes one day. While there spend as much time being nice to the young ones, and ignore the self righteous bigotts. These young ones just might be where you are one day and your being there might help them in the long run.
You could even introduce some new traditions into the gathering like Festivous. Draw names to see who gets to wrestle you.
