David,
I have a Roland A90E keyboard, and yes, I played it in real time. The sound-effects were recorded after-the-fact on another track and then mixed.

Wow Farkel that was great! I love your playing. You play with great emotion as well as precision. Good combination.

If you really want to make a violinst's day, tell him he "saws on the strings." That'll work.

Wow! Its been so long since I heard the piano being played at the kingdom hall it actually gave me chills up my spine to hear your melody! Did I really QUICKEN the PACE as the keys were being struck faster and faster.I almost grabbed my old book bag and was heading out the door to the door to door ,door to door ,door to door, door to door ,as I broke out in a cold sweat I got control of myself and said to myself, 'Wait a minute that's the old MAESTRO,FARKEL himself,Whew! I don't have to go door to door anymore.I just can't get that tune out of my mind, you know the one they play at this time of the year."Peet Freens are a very natural cookie, don't let your kids get them they are for adults only,Peet or peek freens are a very natural cookie on and on the commercial goes. The brothers used to use this in the hall to demonstrate the effect xmas tunes and songs can have on us during the holiday season. But they never told us about the effect the kingdom songs had on us sung over and over again to motivate us to go to the meetings and door to door. Farkel you brought back memories of the songs that were sung along to the pace of the PIANO player who was always some old sister banging away at the keyboard. Here is one for you,"House to House, Door to Door "not for Blueblades anymore!
Bump! This is a Christmas classic! Thanks Farkel, ahem, for the (bad) memories. But I guess you DID warn us.
Gopher -- a former Kingdom Hall piano player who was neither female nor old... but the WTS decided they didn't like us "live" musicians inside their Kingdom Halls and so they replaced us with "officially sanctioned" recordings, eliminating yet another nice thing from their organization.
Bravo, bravo!
I used to play at the kingdom hall, weddings, and casual gatherings. I would jazz up the kingdom songs but not at the hall. I never felt that recorded music was better to sing to than live music and said so. I figured the change was just a scam to get more money from the congregations. The quality of singing has gone down. I played on many a piano at Bethel and at the assemblies. But I do not approach your ability, Farkel.
Blondie (who was a 3rd generation kingdom hall piano player)
YESSSS.....LOVED THE ENDING.......GREAT RENDITION OF CHOPSTICKS!
Damn.......I am also of the green with envy class.....if only I continued my piano lessons when I was young....taught by a catholic nun in the front of the rectory who used to bang on the keys when she knew you didn't practice before that week's lesson.....
Keep them coming, Farkel, they are great!

I just downloaded winamp so I could listen.
WOAH! Very cool, Farkel! My daughter, the budding pianist, was very impressed! She actually remembered the 'hovah part of the song.
