I'm Sick

I haven't been sick in several years, but about 3 hrs. before my family was coming for our Christmas Eve dinner and present exchanges I got really sick. My stomach had this strange feeling and I felt like I was going to die, not pain but a wierd feeliing. All of a sudden I had to go to the bathroom and I didn't quite make it in time. I just threw my underware away. I sat in my recliner the rest of the evening and didn't eat. I had a fever but it is better today, but my stomach still doesn't feel right and I'm weak.

What a time to get sick. I didn't feel like opening my presents and just sat there about half out of my head. My daughters tried to get me to go to the hospital, but I'm stubborn. They were so kind and loving, my step daughter said I've lost one dad and I couldn't survive losing you. She stayed around untill midnight to make sure I was OK. I had gone to bed. She kept telling me she loved me. I think that helped.

I hope you all had a better Christmas than me.

Oh, man, Ken. I HATE it when that happens! Take care. Maybe it's the flu.

    Merry Xmas.

LOTS of sympathy from me. I have a cold, as does our 6-year-old, and it's a rotten way to spend a holiday. Hope you feel better! (I think it's the flu too. Drink lots of liquids and if you have any Phenergan, or know someone who does, TAKE SOME. It will help with the nausea.)

    Love,

    Nina

    Oh, Ken, ((((hugs))))

I'm so very sorry you've been so sick. That kind of sickness can mess your electrolites up, so make certain you get plenty of fluids and juices back in there.

Hopefully, you will be feeling much better. What a sweet step-daughter you have, to show you such loving concern. We have much to be thankful for.

After being down and depressed, not doing a tree, and wallowing in some self-pity, I picked myself up today. We woke up early to a beautiful white Christmas and that doesn't happen much here anymore. That was a blessing! Then hubby did surprise me with just a "little something" (which we agreed we were NOT going to do an exchange) and then my son called. (My son calling me IS a big deal!!)

Now, I'm suddenly humming around the house. I already cooked a turkey earlier today, and I went down in the basement and took several parts from old ornaments and fashioned something to hang on our front door. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful, and all is well.

I'm grateful. All is well in the manor.
