    A true story ...

One sunday morning, after the meeting, a local elder brings up in conversation that he had spent a night working at a brothel and not only didn't see any problem with it, but actually was rather proud of it!

Of course he wasn't working working there ...

The elder fitted alarms and, being so one of "Jehovah's zealous, loyal servants" ... was willing to take money of anyone if it meant he sold an alarm.

Now, they didn't want him working there when they had 'customers' (eh-hem) so he worked in the early hours of the morning.

    I can't believe that:

    a) he did the work. I would choose who I installed some software for !
    b) he would admit to doing it
    c) he would admit it at the kingdom hall !

Now of course, nothing surprises me when it comes to elders

    Hi Simon,

You know its not where he put these alarms in that bothers me Simon..Its the fact he was bragging of it!

Seems to me he thought it a feather in his cap to have breathed the air in of a BROTHEL!

That is the hypocritical part to me.

Personally, I would be nice to anyone no matter what their life style or profession.

No matter who a person is they are just that A PERSON.

Still and all since we are not to STUMBLE our brothers to mention the job was wrong, wrong, wrong.

If he did it to be nice he should have not let one hand know what the other was up to.

Because, like you point out by your wording of your post, some may not approve of having Ladies Of Ill repute as customers.

In honestly as I said he was bragging of breathing in the AIR of a brothel. Sort of a stud by associations!

    What a PIG!!

    Just my 2 cents....not refunds

    Simon,

I wonder if he ever compared his situation to the Bible passages where Jesus was said to have associated with tax collectors and harlots. Maybe that's why he thought to brag about it. LOL

I feel sorry for the people in the brothel having to unwittingly associate with a local cult leader

LOL, reminds me of the joke about the two Irish navvies digging across the road from a brothel and they see the local Methodist Preacher sneak in the door of the Brothel "would ya look at that Mick" paddy said "dats a terrible ting indeed"........half an hour later Mick sees the local COE minister knock on the door of the brothel " Paddy, Paddy", Mick says, "is dere no shame in de world today"..........and so half an hour later Paddy sees the local Catholic Priest, knock on the door of the brothel and enters in, "Arrrrrrr Mick isn't dat a shame" Paddy says, " one of them girls must be ill" !!!

This reminds me of how JWs, especially people like elders, pioneers, and bethelites, like to brag about pushing the envelope.

I remember one guy (american, pioneer and bethelite) who was so proud of the way he use the word "bloody" with an english accent.

Another bragged about the way his elder dad defended him when some elders didn't like him watching rated R movies.

Many were very proud of their collection of alcoholic drinks.

So many would go on about how it is "OK" to do this or that but so many poor JWs just didn't know it. They would look at the other JWs with pitty because they didn't know certain things were "OK"

LOL! He can work for a brothel, but I'll bet he'd refused to do the same work for a church.

I don't get it.......why did he have to do the work in the wee small hours?

Isn't there any trade then? Don't you poms stay up late?

Cheers, Ozzie (of the naive class)
