Ding9 minutes agoI saw a cart at a street corner in a major US city.
In the time I watched them, absolutely no one paid any attention and the JWs made no effort to engage anyone in conversation.
    Just putting in time...

Good. I hope they all shut the hell up and leave everyone alone! The less they talk the fewer people will be victims of their lies and cruelty.

Cult Care Elder: ... corrected his friend and said they must contact the branch.

Cult Care Elder: One of the elders responded the he "was happy to be controlled".

Cofty: I asked the elders if [his] 14 year old son ... came to him [in] a few years time and told him that he no longer wanted anything to do with the religion would he shun him. He said that he would.

    Let's review: It's a cult!

You say, "after those 100's of thousands street performers were at this International Festival, you were interested in the carts with two men". and you approached them, There you have it, they were there for your enjoyment.

How can you say nobody was interested in them? You and your wife were interested

@ Cofty, JW baiting sounds like a worthy cause.

Peace be with you and everyone who you love,

    Robert

I don't think it was the sort of "interest" they were hoping for.

    I guess England is tougher.

Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland.

I must get up to Edinburgh one day, maybe hop on a train.

When I'm confronted with non-thinkers who 'would shun their children', or 'would die rather than take blood', and so on, I ask "but what if the rules change and you no longer have to shun or refuse blood, would you change your view too?"

If they say they would change (as they have to, since they are mandated to let the GB think on their behalf) then I point out that actually they are following men then, and not the Bible.

It rarely triggers any reaction, but then again what am I expecting from someone who can no longer think?

Nicely done Cofty...although initially all Cofty has done is reinforced their belief that they have the true faith because you are obviously a bitter, mentally diseased apostate feeding them lies.

It's only after time that some of the points may register at a later date, in effect, Cofty is planting seeds and they rarely blossom straight away...

I've seen this with many I have spoken to including my still-in wife, everything I say about the org is apostate-driven lies then 6 months later it twigs and it registers...then hopefully at some point they start to doubt and the whole house of cards comes tumbling down.

What Cofty did is the best we exjws can do rather than any active rants or demonstrations.

One of the elders responded the he "was happy to be controlled".

He isn't really. He's just protecting the cult leaders. Either that, or you found a truly wicked person.

Oh hey cofty! I just moved to Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago - if you fancy a pint while you're here, let me know.

Awesome job!! Isn't it frightening how easily they can squelch normal feelings for their fellowman...and own flesh and blood...I hope your words resonate in their cult controlled heads.
