    gumby,

a clone is just a late born twin of the person cloned. it has its own 'soul' and its own personality. there is absolutely NO difference to a 'normal' person.

if its a good thing or not lyes in the eyes of the beholder...if someone wants to be cloned then why not? the person should however understand first that the clone will NOT be him...it will just be his twin.

    Hi Guest77,

I believe it was Ted Williams. I was only following the stories in the newspaper briefly since I don't know a thing about sports, but apparently one of his children wanted him frozen, the others didn't -it was a big controversey and the last thing I read was one side dropped their legal battle due to money matters - I don't recall who gave in, but it seemed to me that the one fighting for the freezing rights had delusions of granduer about selling DNA.

Im really getting sick and tired of this never ending controversy where everyone dumps on anybody who even thinks about wearing a multi-colored wig, huge baggy pants, a big red nose that squeaks when squeezed, and a jacket flower that squirts water when someone trys to smell it.

I am sick of the damn speculating, let's do it once just to see how it goes. If we get a race of flesh eating mutoids, well that's the risk you take when science is on the line.

Hi gumby; yeah, I been gone, but have never been one to do the "I'm going" or the "I'm coming" guff.

You say "I'm anxious to see the personality that develops from a clone. Does it have it's own soul (personality)?"

Basically a clone is different from the originating organism. It will not have the same pre-birth environment. It will not have the same post-birth environment. EVen if a deliberate attempt was made to make these environments identical to those of the originating organism, with higher organisms there is SO much in the way of variables that chaos theory takes over and it becomes impossible to reproduce identically. It shares DNA, that's all.
