Yesterday, the kids surprised us with a sunset dinner cruise, as their gift to us for our anniversary. It was very elegant, on the top deck of a large catamaran, dining vessel, off of Waikiki and Diamond Head. We had waiters (not a buffet) and great entertainment. There were two singers, and two beautiful hula dancers. Dinner was an entire Maine lobster, each, and prime rib, and all the trimmings. We each had 3 drinks included with the package.
It was beautiful and fun. Towards the end, they asked if there were any special occasions, so I raised my hand and they had us come up to the microphone to tell about our anniversary, and they played and sang the Hawaiian Wedding Song for us and two honeymoon couples, to dance. At that time, I could see the entire dining room, and all but 4 of us were Japanese. They ate their entire lobsters. Dave and I ate the tails and the claws........yummy too!
The grand finale was singing YMCA, with audience participation. The maitre'd got us up in front with about 8 others to lead the group. At least I can do that one. Dave tried to hide behind me, but he was a good sport.
It was wonderful and we had so much fun.
