    Low Country Boil: Prawn, corn, sausage, red-skin potatoes cooked in sea water
    Black Eyed Peas w/ Hog Jowl and Collards
    Adult beverages

    Grilled steak, baby carrots, and scalloped potatoes - it was yummy! We don't drink so we will top if off with lemon meringue pie, and homemade peanut butter cookies. (Baked and decorated by our kiddies!) Have a Wonderful New Year, Oreo

    Nope... german....

    Pork and sauerkraut are supposed to bring good luck. I dont beleive in luck, but I like the foods.

    Darn it! I didnt realize this was one of those holidays where you have a special meal. We had left overs

    Flower, you don't have to have a special meal, I was just curious. But you need a good meal anyways, to soak up all that alcohol.

    Just had some pizza for dinner......

    And, later some of our favorite snack foods.....chips and salsa, and, veggies with dip..mmmm

    About 5 more hours to go yet.........hope I don't fall asleep before the ball drops in Times Square, we have to watch it every year.......

    Black eyed peas and hamhocks....

    A southern thing.......

    They are very good with a dash of Tabasco.....

    1 lb. pkg black-eyed peas
    2 quarts water
    1 ham bone, piece of salt pork or several
    slices of bacon
    salt and pepper to taste

    Wash peas and soak overnight or at least 5 hrs. in cold water. Drain. Put peas in large pot with 2 qts. water. Add ham bone or bacon. Simmer for about 2 hrs. or until peas are tender. Add water if needed while cooking.

    I just now got home from my sister's house for dinner. Had some homemade chinese food. All was good.
