Jets will blow the Colts out of the water - right now I think they are the most dangerous team playing.

Giants over the 'niners - maybe a very high scoring game, since TO can score on any given play. But the Giants have a strong momentum right now.

Pack over Atlanta. This is actually a tough call, and I want to lean towards the M Vic show, but tradition is the Pack win @ home always. So you can never bet against them @ home. But they have not looked very impressive over the past month. Maybe the Jet's embarrasements will fire them up for this week's game.

Steelers will pound the dog pound, any slim chance the Browns had went away w/ Tim C's broken leg. But he sure was magic in the 4th quarter this year!

That's why they play the games!

I only got one prediction correct (out of 4). That stinks. But, Shutterbug, Crownboy, and CC Ryder only got one correct, also. So, at least I am in good company!

Gopher, Big Tex, and ashitaka each got 3 out of 4 right.

NameWithheld got 2 out of 4 correct.

Each of us who made predictions had an interesting common thread: NONE of us picked Atlanta over GB. NameWithheld and Funchback wanted to pick Atlanta but didn't because "you just can't bet against the Pack at home".

Now, the time has come for Week 2 predictions. I hope I fare better this time around. LOL!

Oakland 31, Jets 28 (Breakdown: This is a clash of two red-hot teams. Oakland won a close game at home in Week 13 against the Jets 26-20. If the Jets were playing this playoff game at home, they would easily win this game. Don't forget: This is a revenge game for the Jets. But, Oakland is on fire and Gannon just got his MVP. Oakland is rested and ready to roll. This game should be filled with a lot of drama and it will be one that will be remembered for a long time.)

Tennessee 27, Pittsburgh 25 (Breakdown: This game is most interesting. These two teams met on Week 11 (at Tennessee). Maddox was temporarily parylized and the Titans were smoking ;the Steelers until Stewart almost led the Steelers to an emotional, stunning comeback. The Titans are 10-1 in their last 11 games and they still feel disrespected for not getting any players voted into the Pro Bowl. Pittsburgh is coming off of a draining playoff game vs. Cleveland. Maddox will struggle this week.)

SF 20, TB 6 (Breakdown: If the 49ers can score at least 13 points, then they will win this game. Brad Johnson will play but he's not 100% healthy. The Bucs have a great defense but their offense is out of sync right now.)

Philadelphia 33, Atlanta 20 (Breakdown: McNabb is back. The crowd will be loud. Vick cannot beat you with his arm. Plus, he is banged up. I think this game will be close until early in the 4th quarter. Expect Brian Mitchell to provide the Eagles with good field position all day.)

Boy it's a good thing I don't bet on these games. My heart rate would have tripled after today with the Steelers and Niners pulling it out at the end! Now honestly, who really thought Atlanta had a prayer. Green Bay has NEVER lost a home playoff game, in the history of the franchise. And who would have thought Favre would have played that way? Ah well, that's why they play the game. I'm going to need a day to study this weekend's games, but I don't see 'Frisco whupping up on Tampa. The Giants exposed some serious weaknesses on defense.

Hey funch, 1of 4 aint bad, lol.....but hey, I'd have come in with the same numbers, or maybe 2-2 at best. I thought the Pack and Giants would win.

Raiders will win it all, I think, beating my preseason pick, the Eagles, in SB 37.

All I care about is the Raiders Losing. I hope they get there butts wipped. They cannot be at Superbowl in my town. We are all Raider Haters.

    Yes, what a wild week!

Drat. I was spot on with the Jets.

Giants I was right about the high score, but not picking the right team! Who would have though the niners could mount that drastic a comeback? I mean, 38-14, the game's over! I guess not when you have a certain player named T.O.

Pack/Falcons. Well, I can't say I'm surprised. The way the Pack had played over the past few weeks, It didn't surprise me to see them so flat Sat. But I just couldn't fight history and pack's domination in Jan, plus Atlanta hasn't been setting the world on fire the past couple of weeks. I guess there had to be a first time! And Atlanta showed up ready to play. The pack showed up looking like they were already planning their respective vacations.

Steelers certainly didn't 'pound' the dog pound, they did win in pretty dramitic fashion though. I felt bad for Holcomb, he played the game of his life, and the Browns dominated that game - until the 4th quarter. I haven't seen so many sucessful long throws in a long time!

This week is even harder to predict. Any one of these games could go either way.

Oakland/Jets: Let's take the Jets in a close game.

Tenn/Pitt: Tenn, only because I like them :) Another tight game. Titans have been on a roll lately, winning some tough games. In reality I think Pittsburg will prevail, but I'm still going to put my official prediction on Tenn

SF/Tampa: The niners - Tampa has a good defense, but not invunerable. They have NO offense though. The niners do.

Egales/Atlanta: Eagles. Home field, cold game, Vic is good, but not good enough against a tough Eagles defense. As noted, he's hurting too. And the Eagles have proven they can win no matter who's at QB.

Man, that was a wild weekend in the NFL. My one out of four could have easily been 3 out of 4 if the Giants and Browns didn't choke at the end. Atlanta was a stunner.

    This week's picks:

Jets over Raiders (gotta go with my team . And they do have a legitamate shot at winning).

    Titans over Steelers

Bucs over 49'ers (should I really bet against them after Sunday?).

Falcons over Eagles (If Vick could win at Lambeau, he can do it at the Vet).

Since this forum is free, that's what my opinion is worth. So with that in mind, here's my picks:

Jets over Oakland - NY is hot and I'm afraid Oakland might be hitting the wall

Titans over Pittsburgh - the Steel Kleenex won't stop McNair; no last second heroics this week

Phiwwy over Atlanta - playtime is over so Atlanta needs to vacate immediately

Tampa over Frisco - tough game to pick, but I think the Tampa defense, plus playing at home will overcome the Niners who might have shot their wad last week
