    G'day all,

Mrs Ozzie and I are enjoying a week in the Blue Mountains at a convention (no, not a District Convention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) but we didn't want to miss out on our customary poll, so we're sending this from a very welcoming cafe in scenic Katoomba. Check it out on the web.

So, this weekend's poll question asks us to be a little analytical. For all you dubs, I hope it's not too hard-hitting. Ozzie confesses to being a bit savage today. I'll repent later. I'm pleased to have the help of Mrs Ozzie today with our poll. Ain't that nice?

    So this weekend's question is:

When you read in The Watchtower that JWs help in disasters, what do you think ?

    1. There truly is a worldwide brotherhood.

    2. They're just bragging.

    3. They put "first things, first" i.e. Kingdom Halls.

    4. So, they help people?

    5. Where did they get those trucks from?

    6. They really are showing "love of neighbour".

    7. They're just showing off to show how community minded they are.

    8. What happened to the "widows and orphans"? (James 1:27)

    9. Are they going to start doing charitable works now?

    10. Why don't they give help every day?

    11. Why only to JWs?

    12. Other (you choose!)

Just pick one or two (or more, if you like!) that reflects how you think, or used to think.

    Enjoy!

    Cheers, Ozzie

I think the wording (in their articles on this subject) is becoming gradually less subtle, that they mainly help only JW's. So I would pick #11 -- Why only JW's?

The articles seem designed to provoke favorable publicity in favor their unpopular group. They need some "substance" to the claim that they are indeed a charitable organization. After all, isn't that the claim on which they base their tax breaks?

I think it was number 11..why just JW's? That always bothered me...

When you read in The Watchtower that JWs help in disasters, what do you think ?

    12. Other: What a crock of $h!t!!!

    4. So, they help people?

This would be the closest to my thoughts when my dad told me what they were doing during 911

    9. Are they going to start doing charitable works now?

    10. Why don't they give help every day?

    11. Why only to JWs?

All 3. You would think that with 951 million they would be willing to help the needy, eh?

    My answer would be;

"Why do they only show selective love and not love and support to everyone, without division of religion?"

Once again we see selectivity ,if there is such a word ,they use a token sugestion of temporary help, but all i have seen is that local or distant congregations are asked to dig deeper into there pockets, which is yet another excuse for the organization to implement another strategy of looking good ,which of course doesnot come out of the coffers ,maybee they collect millions in this way,& only send along a percentage of donations, GOOD BUSINESS PRACTISE if you ask me rob from the poor to give to the rich
