Did you keep "satanic" LP's as a JW?

i kept all my Iron Maiden records 'cos they weren't satanic in my opinion and the music was just too good to be thrown out.

anyone else keep records that would have been deemed "satanic"?

My brother had to get rid of his Steve Miller and Eagles 'Hotel California' LP 'cuz they were 'bad'. On the inside flap of the Hotel California LP, supposedly there was a picture of a drugged out woman that was construed as a demon. All the dubs freaked out about that. Kinda funny, but not at the time for my brother because he had to throw them out, after having to bust his ass for some old lady down the road just to earn enough money to buy them.

my folks made me throw out all my ac/dc, led zeppelin and Rush tapes. Rush seemed rather innocent to me, in fact one of their songs said "and the meek shall inherit the earth." (2112 album) But then on a different album, one song was entitled "Witch Hunt" so that made all of their music DEMONIC and thus I had to throw them all away. Pissed me off. When I went to Bethel I bought more tapes and hid them all cuz Rush RULES and they're SO not demonic - give me a break.

All hell broke loose when they found my 2 Live Crew tape. :-P

i wouldnt have thought there'd be a problem with Rush. i dont ahve any of their albums but a JW in my old cong told me all about them being that they were his fave group. it's so damn petty minded! if only people knew how to tell people who impose their conscience on others where to get off!

Got rid of 'Demons and Wizards' and 'Magician's Birthday' by Uriah Heep among others. JWs were so freaky about music that I found that I had to turn off the stereo before answering the phone after a comment that 'Tangerine Dream's' music(Rubycon) sounded creepy during a phone conversation with a JW who happened to call.

Finally drew the line one day when someone happened by the house and saw a 'Santana' album and commented that the name was just too close to Satan and it made them uncomfortable. Telling them that it was a man's REAL name made no difference. After that, all music was kept out of sight and earshot.

Never threw any out cause I hid them well. Back2dafront, you had 2 live crew too? You're naughty.

Anyone remember "Licensed to Ill" by the Beastie Boys? My mom flipped when I came home with that! Now she loves it. My mom is too funny!

    LOL!

My husband used to have all of Ozzies and Black Sabbath's albums when he was a dub teenager. One time, one of his records got warped so he took these two heavy pieces of glass and sandwiched the record between them. He then put a heat lamp over it and left it and forgot about it. He came back several hours later and the glass had heated to the point where it exploded and sent shards of glass flying all over the room. They were sticking out of the ceiling and walls. Yikes! Well his parents thought this was a sign that the deemunz was comin' so they made him get rid of all of them BWAHAHAHA! ugh. Noooo! just a stupid thing to do is all.

Betweenworlds, that is ssssssooooooo funny , you cheered me up , thanks

I never got rid of any albums. I was an elder , but I could recognize ignorance and control when I saw it . I made no secret if it came up in conversation and those who knew me well knew of my musical tastes. I would not tell others what to listen to

Once I was asked to take the Watchtower study one week, and it happened to all about Demon inspired heavy metal music. We decided that we just had to visit my wife's aunt that Sunday," sorry and all that "
