The front-page article "Living Up to Our Dedication" contains at least one mis-application of a scripture. Actually the application made is a complete distortion, a fraud.
Paragraph 3 "Being surrounded by Satan's world, we must exercise self-discipline, avoiding anything that could contaminate our mind or corrupt our heart. (Prov. 4:23; Matt. 5:29,30) Christians are admonished that they "cannot be partaking of the 'table of Jehovah' and the table of demons" (1 Cor. 10:21) This requires that we guard against unwholesome entertainment, bad associations, and dangers on the Internet."
That is just so much garbage. Once again the WTS shows its style of taking scriptures out of context. 1 Corinthians 10 is alll about fleeing from idolatry. In context, 1 Cor. 10:21 reads:
"Consider the people of Israel: Do not those who eat the sacrifices participate in the altar? Do I mean then that a sacrifice offered to an idol is anything, or that an idol is anything? No, but the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God, and i do not want you to be participants with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the table of demons. Are we trying to arouse the Lord's jealousy? Are we stronger than he?" -1 Cor. 10:18-22 (NIV)
How many Dubs overlook the lies and distortions in the publications, even claiming this as "spiritual food"? How many of us posters can look back on the time they swallowed these husks, instead of wholesome spiritual food?
