SpannerintheWorks you noticed my new Avatar!

I used Adobe PhotoShop & ImageReady to make it. It's a combination of my previous ones in a slideshow format!

Graham Norton is an aquired taste - even a lot of non-dubs find him far too vulgar! The first time I came across him was when he played the extremely over-excitable Father Noel Furlong in the brilliant Irish sitcom Father Ted. Has that been shown in the United States yet? It's a show that would offend most Catholics so I guess there might be a bit of opposition in showing it - there was a lot of flak when it was first shown on RTE.

Oh, gods, Father Ted is a riot.

But, yeah, it does really, REALLY offend some people here. (Gotta remember, something like 90% of the US population lives their lives, every day, looking for something to be horribly offended by and crusade against, so....)

Graham Norton is pretty good, but "The Office" is the best show on TV EVER!

I just wonder if the U.S. is ready for The Office humour, it's no Monty Python, and it seems that most Americans equate UK comedy with Monty Python type humour.

The thing with The Office is that you have to 'get it', its subtle comedy and totally brilliant for it!!

I will be interested to hear what you U.S. folks make of it!!

Hey home_and_dry! Like your new David Brent Avatar! I love The Office too, but even though it was praised to high heaven, it didn't get mega-ratings - for a lot of people that kind of humour just leaves them cold. I remember talking to someone at work about "The Royle Family" once, and she just didn't get it - "There isn't a proper story or proper jokes or anything - it's rubbish!"

I should have put "a furry puppy phone that moves it's mouth when the person speaks" on my christmas list. I WANT ONE OF THOSE SO BAD!

I've seen one episode of the Office. The one with the quiz. My roommate laughed all the way through it. I was mildly amused.

I'm sure I will see it again, because he loves it.

I've started seeing a few now, it's on after 'Coupling' here, which we watch religiously. (Now *THAT'S* a funny show)

'The Office' is....well....it's a lot like watching a train wreck, really. It's horrifying and you kinda feel the need to do something about it...but...then...you really can't, and just keep watching.
