Just signed on to AOL Broadband, but finding it a bit of a pig to work with....maybe I'm doing something wrong. OK you can sign on in a matter of seconds, and web pages load real quick, but since joining, Morpheous doesn't seem to work, and media player is very jumpy....can anyone help me get the most out of this thing I've just agreed to pay 27.99 a month for....cheers. Scott

I am not an AOL fan (so I can't really help you).

    Perhaps you should join NetZero.

Thing that sux about AOL broadband is that you still have to connect, its not always on.

AOL has a very bad reputation in the United States whereas they are pretty good in the UK, not the best ( www.breathe.co.uk ), but pretty good nonetheless. The quality of the the connection is very dependent on BT. Aren't you having any joy with the customer services helpline? Before you call them, be forearmed with some statistics - you can test your connection using this nifty application from Dan Elwell:

most microsoft operating systems are not optimized for broadband connections.

to get the most from your connection you need to change a few things.

www.dslreports.com has some nice tools to measure your speed, and a nifty program to change the areas of you o.s. that needs tweaking.

some things you'll need to know? what o.s. are you using, and the speed your supposed to get on your broadband connection.

presently your optimized for dial up and your getting choppy quality because your settings are not optimized for broadband.

    hope that helps.

If they're broadband is anything like they're dialup, then you got an extra step, going through they're proxy servers, might be why morphius doesn't work. I'm assuming it's DSL broadband? There are alot better services for DSL then AOL.

I took the opportunity to get off of AOL when I got broadband. It's too restrictive for what I wanted. I was fed up with being in such a contained environment.
