    KM, feb 03 - page 3, paragraph 6:

A brother who was unexpectedly laid off from his secular employment took advantage of the situation to auxiliary pioneer....Reflecting on his experience, he said: "What a month!" How elated he was for having Jehovah's direction and help!

Not only is loosing your job unexpectedly an "advantage", it is put forth as almost a gift from Jehovah that he lost his job. Absolutely incredible!

Oh wow!!! What a blessing from Jehovah, to have a whole month of people slamming the door in his face.

: Reflecting on his experience, he said: "What a month!"

That expression could mean anything. It could just as easily mean "Why in the hell did I get myself into THIS crap?" Those three words are more telling for what they do not say, than for what they do say.

It makes me angry that the watchtower uses unreal experiences like this to cause witnesses further grief and guilt over not doing enough. Where is the love? It puts unreachable expectations on everyone. It suprises me that the organization doesn't cause more suicides than it already does.... this has really made me sad, I remember feeling SO inadequate because of dumb experiences like this.

If you loose your job, you must pioneer or you will be viewed as spiritually week for not taking advantage of the extra time you have.

Remember that when out Aux-Pioneering if it starts to storm what an incredible chance you will have for flashes of new light.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha LOL!

In all 6 mill JWs, this is the best 'experience' they could come up with? The best sound bite?

    "What a month!"

How about the full quote? "What a month! After I lost my job, I could not afford food. Thanks to the encouragement of Bro OverbearingElder, I decided to live off the gov't instead of finding a new job. My kids teeth are now rotting and I can't take them to the dentist, but I'm sure Jehuber will provide. Once my car ran out of gas, I tried to bum rides from the other pioneers, but their car groups were always full. Jehuber always provides though, and I found some scrap paper to use in a letter writing campain. Of course, I could not afford to actually mail the letters, so I walked 4 miles to the nearest house and left it in the door with a tract. After I got frostbite on my feet I asked the elders for help, but they correctly reminded me that Bros in Africa have harder times than us, and that the society needs our money more than we do. I cheerfully donated my last dollar to the KH building fund after that encouragement! By the way, can you spare a dollar? Hello? Hello? Where are you going?"

I wonder how long his unemployment benefits will last.

Yumby: I agree that the experience is ``unreal"" in the sense that I expect so many pie-in-the-sky WT experiences are that leave out the specific names and details of the parties involved; nor ``unreal" in the sense of ``atypical:" ``unreal" as in ``fabricated."

What a month!!! Not being able to eat food, and pay for my bills is incredible. Not only am I destitute, I am in service!!! How wonderful that Jehovah has blessed me! Working and providing for my family is SOOOOO overrated!
