LDH is quite right in her list. Especially about that yes/no stuff. In fact, it's good to find a way to say yes when you really mean no.
For instance, the kid says "Can I have a sucker?"
And you say "Yes, after dinner."
See, you suckered the little sucker right in and didn't say no. He's likely to remember that after dinner remark however, so you'd better have that sucker somewhere handy.
