Is that so?
I talked to a number of these people including D Splane about this over
the years
Standard sub psychotic religious experience
Reported by some people of all faiths
Akin to the "born again experience"

So some quack has a shamanic fever dream (or more likely something a lot more lame) and decides he's one of the literal 144,000? I'd have thought it could be verified by your service report at least, and more than just a checked box.
I knew a sister who was a colporteur during CT Russell's reign,
(He wasn't deluded he had the Science of Pyramidology- but I digress)
She wanted to talk about her hope
She said that when she came in there was only one hope
Never needed any wonderful communion with God
Seems for others to be a sort of religious Placebo Effect
Why not
I've recently talked to Catholics who regularly have visions of the Virgin
Mary

And when Dawkins tried the God helmet, he said it felt strange and relaxing.
Put that thing on Steven Lett and see what happens.
Every jw was of the 'anointed' till the magic number got to be too big! lol As I grew up in the borg, all those claiming to be 'anointed' were very weird people. I figured that it was because they were on a different plane that us earthlings. Now I know that it's all just a figment of their imagination and anyone who wants to be of the 'anointed' just needs to show up and consume some wine and crackers.
I love the fact that number has been increasing steadily for many years now. Got to be a huge worry for the gb!
just saying!
Usually what is required is for a person to miss their meds for several weeks/months until they feel God reaching out to them. . . . Doc

Not quite, Blondie.

Actually, there was a Questions from Readers 6-15-96 WT issue p. 31 on that that said the WTS said it was equal.

"Can we say that God’s servants today who have the earthly hope have as much of God’s spirit as do spirit-anointed Christians?
Members of the “other sheep,” though not having had the experience of being anointed, in other respects do receive holy spirit. The Watchtower of April 15, 1952, observed:
“The ‘other sheep’ today perform the same preaching work as the remnant, under the same trying conditions, and manifest the same faithfulness and integrity. They feed at the same spiritual table, eating the same food, absorbing the same truths. Being of the earthly class, with earthly hopes and a keen interest in earthly things, they might interest themselves more in scriptures relating to earthly conditions in the new world; whereas the anointed remnant, with heavenly hopes and strong personal interest in the things of the spirit, might study more diligently those things in God’s Word. . . . Yet the fact remains that the same truths and the same understanding are available to both classes, and it is just how the individuals apply themselves in study that determines the comprehension of heavenly and earthly things they acquire. The Lord’s spirit is available in equal portions to both classes, and knowledge and understanding are offered equally to both, with equal opportunities for absorbing it.” "
