    Hi!

Since I am a newbie here I am just curious about everyone else on the group. I live in Missouri and have most of my life. I lived in CA. and TX also but only for short periods of time. I was a JW all my life until I got sick of the crap and was DF'd in '96. I don't belong to another religion nor do I think I ever will and I am over all the JW crap but I like coming here because you all are the only ones who knows what I am talking about if I want to make fun of somethign JW related! I am in my thirties, female, married with one step-daughter. We live on five acres in the country and have one dog, three cats and endless "critters" out in the wild! I am an Admin. Asst. and enjoy my work. I also love reading, walking, crocheting and of course making friends on the net. So please everyone, tell me about yourselves!

    Hello copsec,

Born & raised in central Ohio, still live there. Raised Catholic, baptized JW in 1993 at age 22.

After 9 years I got very tired of the soul-destroying JW life and I started surfing websites such as this one. Been out almost a year. Still having a rough time of it.

    Hi Copsec:

I was born in Utah, married a Yankeefrom Boston and now too live in Missouri with my hubby Thunder Rider, we left the organization around 95 because of their lack of love. We share many of the same interests I have three dogs, three Maine Coon cats and an Iguana (oops and Thunder has a snake) I am an artist/writer/student and I also crochet and a few other things.

Nice too meet you, welcome to the board

Also to Shera and Dan, thanx for the welcome. And Dan, please don't despair. It DOES get easier as time goes on. It was not a healthy place for you to be and you will do just fine!

    Hi cop,

I was raised a witness but enlightened a couple of years ago.

A short summary of my JW life is in my bio. At this point, Im trying to get past the anger and raise my chidren as far away from that part of my life as possible.

I have found this board to be a great place to meet friends and discuss any unresolved issues I have from my past and any current ones that arise with my JW family.

    Welcome to the board.

    Hi U'ns:

I was born into the cult and for awhile lived with my uncle who was a congregation overseer long before the elder arrangement. I saw first hand and close up the hypocrisy of the organization. I saw favoritism expressed toward my uncle's friends who got caught grousing in the goody. I saw others who got caught doing the same kinda grousing get ground into fine particles.

Then when I grew older and graduated college with my own ability to think honed to a fine sharpness, I could see the more clearly the soul-destroying lack of love, the Pharisee-like behavior of the so-called elders, I watched the men who referred to themselves as "glorious ones" skin the sheep with their own hands.

Then I read Eric Hoffer's "The True Believer" a book about mass movements and cultic behavior that doesn't even mention Jehovah's Witnesses by name, and I could see Jehovah's Witnesses in each and every sentence.

The organization of Jehovah's Witnesses is beyond a shadow of doubt a full-blown cult and I plan on watching them closely until that house of cards comes tumbling down. In fact, if I can, I plan on bumping the table on which it stands a frequently and as hard as I can every time I can, because the organization of JWs is a manifest evil in the world - and people deserve to be warned of this evil.

I used to think JWs was just a harmless organization that was merely in error about what it believed. However, the scales have fallen from my eyes and now I see it for the destructive, devisive, soul-destroying, life-ruining, family-busting, cynical force for evil that it is.

    Hi copsec! Welcome!!

I was raised in the org....I also left after college and realized the org was just that...an org, not a true religious group. Too much control not enough true love or caring for members.

I am in central Ohio also. I have been out since about 1984...my mom is still in, as are two of her three sisters. My mother, father and sis were all DFd during the years....mom went back...she is a lost cause. I just faded away and no one seemed to care, which was very good....now if they somehow came after me, I would fight back.

As francois said, the scales are removed.
