I was thinking back about some of the more memorable dramas at the District Assemblies.

I think my favorite was the one about Lot and his wife ... the one where she looked back at the city and turned to a pillar of salt.

I also liked the one some time back about the wicked witch of the east and wicked witch of the west ... especially the part where the building fell on the wicked witch of the east because she was unfaithful ... and I liked the way it ended when the entire family including her uncle and next door neighbor were able to pioneer together.

I liked the one where this cute sister who was in it waved to me afterwards - oh, I don't remember what it was actually about though. Poor thing, I wonder if she's still a witness or what..

    Beware of Rebellious Talk

I was in that one about 20 years ago as a child. In the drama, people who spoke against the organization Jehover were distroyed by fire from the sky and the earth opening up.

Ohhhh the irony... I was one of the people in the drama who remained loyal to the organization Jehover and survived.

I liked the ones where someone would miss their cues and screw the whole scene up.

All I remember is one about jezebelle(sp) I don't recall much of the assemblies and meetings.I'm beginning to think I blanked a lot of the stuff out.Perhaps that is good.

I liked the one about Jephthah's daughter because I got to be in it! That was fun. I was 10 years old and a real ham. Now I'm 47 and still a ham. I also liked the one about Rahab and the two spies because Big Tex played one of the spies and he has cute legs. It was also hilarious trying to teach him and Jesika's Uncle Steve (who played the other spy) how to sit in skirts so the audience wouldn't see more than they paid for.

However, I have NEVER understood why they wouldn't let the guys just grow their own beards instead of sticking on those incredibly bad looking fake ones.

I don't have a favorate because when I came in everyone was talking about how good they were and how they changed. They used to be longer I guess, and more dramatic. (I heard they even turned the lights out) WOAH! talk about party time. I guess people were making out in the audience so they couldn't do that anymore. Now they are just so dull I only looked forward to them because I didn't have to look anything up in my bybul

Actually, I remember one that really freaked me out. It involved two plot lines, one from the present and one from ancient Israel. In the present-day story, this young couple had committed fornication and was called before the elders. She was repentant and got reproved; he was defiant and got the boot. This was was interspersed with an Old Testament story in which our hero, a particularly overzealous Israelite soldier, is so horrified because his mates are fornicating with Gentile women that he charges into a tent and drives a stake through one of the couples, caught "in the act." (Needless to say, this action occurred offstage.)

The moral of the story, as far as I could see, was that fornication was a MUCH MORE serious sin than murder. This is definitely not a welcome message, since I was just hitting puberty at the time and was spending a good deal of my time imagining various scenarios in which I might actually get to commit fornication. Murder, on the other hand, was of very little interest to me--and still is.

I wish I could remember! Usually, I was asleep within 10 minutes of the lights going down...
