One out of every 286 people is a Jehovah's Witness? Yikes! Could this possibly be true?

Globally, about 1 in 1,000 is a JW.

It's always hovering around the 1 in 500 in the UK.

Jehovah's Witnesses have not been brainwashed or bamboozled.

Of course, the irony is that people who have been brainwashed or bamboozled don't realize that they have been.

Oh that is just tooo funny ! ROFLMAO !

Some people simply don't answer the door. Some turn out the lights and stay quiet and still. Many people send children to the door to say they are not at home.
More daring individuals come to the door with their cordless phone, explaining that they are in the middle of a "long-distance call." Some even come to the door and carry on a conversation, but that is a little out of the ordinary.

KODY Did it ever occur to you, that maybe no one wants the product you're selling ! BWHAHAHAHA !

I will have to agree with that statistic. 1 out of every 285 people at a district assembly IS a JW.

Jehovah's Witnesses are not a cult. A cult is defined as a small, extremist religious group that often lives in a single compound and follows a charismatic leader.

That is a falsehood. How many of the GB at Bethel would you call charismatic ?

I genuinely appreciate all of you who have taken the time to learn about my faith. Much of the confusion about Witnesses could be avoided if people with questions about us came to us for answers.

I guess that is why sites like JWD are sooo unpopular ?

OK I've got to go. I think I pissed my pants.

The thing is, that it is actually a very American style religion, and as such does not appeal so much to Europeans.

No criticism there at all about Americans, it's just very obvious that Americans see things in a much more black and white / it's either good or evil type of way than Europeans, who tend to see everything in shades of grey.

Black or white, good or evil is what the WTBTS is all about, and as such, will find a more willing adherent over there than over here.

Witnesses aren't religious fanatics. Basically, they are normal people with deeply rooted faith.

Perhaps in his next article he can explain why he feels that such extreme views as shunning, refusing blood to the point of dying, and believing that 285 out of every 286 people will be destroyed by God in a worldwide cataclysm are not the views of religious fanatics.

I honestly can't know what the ratios are, but I'm sure that because the WTS has every reason to fabricate that stat that it probably isn't accurate. The part that really got me is where Kody says, "We do not, as some claim, add to or take away from the Bible. To the contrary we strive to follow its every command and parable." Oh Kody, at least you've been paying attention, enough so that you can confidently repeat the Society's lies. JW's strive to follow ONLY what the WTS calls their attention to in the Bible...along with their additional interpretations (bias) and instructions (required).

I really need a computer workstation outside or nearer to a window, I can't spit while inside.
