I'm sure this one has been done before, but what was your first "sin" after leaving JW.
I'm not necessarily talking about sleeping with a transvestite - or maybe that was it, :-)
The other day I was a movie theater and if I wanted to - I could have seen a rated R movie - (like the old George Bush on Saturday Night Live - Scary! SCARY!!)
Just wondering.
I'm not entirely sure which one was the first, but I think they were intregal to one another.
Drunkenness and Sex.
Not uncommon generally speaking, but I think either one was first or second. It was a long time ago.
Getting on the internet and hanging around sites like this
getting on the internet,and when i went to work, learning how to curse(which after the novelty wore off was not fun), consulting astrolgers(which after the novelty wore off , was stupid.) I stopped feeling guilty about selective lying
I saw R rated movies when was a jw, just tried to be selective. (i loathe violence),i occ drank to excess as a jw, many do.
Other than that, i would say, my life is about the same.

Yeah, you know, it was kind of like that for me too.
I think the better WT strategy would have been (and oddly JESUS' strategy) is let them use their conscience.
I mean, was at the movie theater and I know that watching a rated R movie is not the end of the world even for a Witness, but it was like - I'm NOT going to watch this movie or that because of the violence.
In the past, it was, I'm not going to watch this movie or that BECAUSE - "Oh My - so and so might see me."
I found I haven't really changed much. I'm using my conscience a lot more now and I guess the only thing I'm actively trying NOT to do is use the "lingo." I don't want to be enslave to "politically correct" JW speak.
I remember one guy on the platform at a District Ass. slips up and said that Jesus was Crucified (instead of Killed on the Torture Stake). He apologized but you'd think he uses the F word on stage as quiet as it got.
And also stuff like calling the "Hebrew and Greek" scriptures - as Old Testament and New Testament.
