Philosophy and it's creative arm called "religion", has labored for hundreds of years to answer these three questions:
1. How did we get here?
2. What are we doing here?
3. Where are we going?
In my experience, the more sure a group is of the answers to these questions the more dangerous they are.
Hope this isn't in that shit category mentioned above . . . . oh well! -

Because many like myself believe life is too complex and wonderous to have come from cause and effect and so many wonder whom put us here and why. I'll always wonder this and ALWAYS wish the hell I had a GOOD answer.

How do you know that life is complex and wondrous? Perhaps it is simple and obvious.
50 degrees centigrade feels wondrously hot to us. But where does it fit on the universal temperature scale?

I wish i knew. From the evolutionary perspective, successful procreation is about it.
Some people are fairly sure that spirit dimensions exist. If so, it is possible that spirit entities were playing w energy, and created the the universe, earth and the various life forms just to see what they could do. I mean, why does someone paint a picture? Since there is untold suffering on the earth each and every day, obviously, the earth is far from perfect. All of nature is a system of one form preying on another. This shows the bible creation stories to be total crap.
If we consider that there may be a spiritual plane inhabited by spirits or some such, then it is possible that some of them choose to incarnate or insinuate themselves into human zygots, in order to experience human/animal existence. Why would they do this? Well, why do people go camping, climb mountains, split the atom, go scuba diving, go skiing, get drunk, have sex. Why do people go into space, the moon, or make plans to go to mars? The answers are many; for fun, just to see what is there or what will happen, to learn, to dominate, because of hormones (animal drives) etc.
I don't see the bible god in any of this. There is no evidence in plain sight that speaks for him. Sorry.

I don't know what the ultimate purpose is, and I suppose I never will. I would suggest that each person should find their own purpose. My purpose is to enjoy my life, have a good time with my wife, kids and grand kids, and pursue my intellectual interests, to wit, to learn new stuff.
