Season 7, Episode 18: "The Dig"

House picks up "Thirteen" -- Dr. Remy Hadley -- upon her release from prison. She asks him to take her to a certain location in order to take care of a personal matter. They pull up to a house in a nice neighborhood, "Thirteen" gets out of the car, walks to the front door, and knocks. A man answers, whom she subsequently knees in the groin. He collapses to the floor; she departs nonchalantly, reenters the car.

"I didn't know you were a Jehovah's Witness," remarks House.

"Yeah, the weak lost faith when Christ didn't return in '75, but I still believe."

House wants to pursue this line of inquiry further, but "Thirteen," like many a good JW, cuts in and says she's starving, and can we get going.

Cool, and once again interesting that "worldly" people have a more accurate and realistic picture of JW history than JWs themselves.

My 2 cents is it wasn't a "worldly" guy who wrote the line. I really don't think the world much remembers what a tiny fraction of religious nutters preached and taught. Since, apparently... nuttin' happened.

I love "House". Great entertainment.

I only recently "discovered" HOUSE and have been doing marathon viewing via NETFLIX. I'm closing in on the final season and wonder what will become of me when I view the final episode . . .

This brings to mind what I hadn't thought of in years. In the TV show, Dr. Kildare, the young doc orders a transfusion for an ailing JW, and Dr. Gillespie reprimands him for violating the patient's rights and wishes.

Yep - that's a keeper. This clip needs wider distribution just to make it clear that the whole blood thing is not a game. It's not always a 50/50 situation.

Death is a long lasting event. There's no going back. If you are thinking that you are going to wake up in a paradise park or on a planet on the other side of the Sun, I'm afraid that you will be very disappointed. That's the bad news.

The good news is that you won't know that you've been snookered.
