    Hey Ashi:

In the interests of blowing my own trumpet, I claim the title of the thread as all my own. Any resemblance to an upcoming movie is entirely co-incidental.

The original title of the story is something imaginative like "Day One After Armageddon."

Here's the link to the thread. Some of the responses are amusing.

Don't go running back to the Kingdom Hall now.

That was weird to read. I had never thought about what that day would have entailed.

We had gone to neighboring houses to find stuff to burn in our fire. It seemed funny going up to those vacant houses. We didn't knock. We would just open the door and say "Oh, 'I'm not interested', You say? You have your own religion? Too bad, too bad, you great city, for in one hour your judgement came." We even brought back a couple of signs for the fire. One said, "No peddlers or agents". And one said "Beware of dog." We laughed long and hard as we piched them into the fire.

Whoever wrote that is a sick bastard. Whoever thinks of it as prophetic and reality is just as sick.

    Love, Scully

This is so sad it's laughable. It's the small details that get me:

One group brought china and silverware. A lot of it was real fine china, and even some real silver

It's almost as if this person has never seen such luxuries.

Editted to add this second thought:

And one said "Beware of dog
Perhaps the sign should have read beware of God. But anyways where is the dog, don't tell me this person beleives non-witness dogs will be killed too!!

Of the almost too numerous to mention Biblical passages that comes to mind, Deut. 6:10-12

When the LORD your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant then when you eat and are satisfied,

Ah, and what were they to think to themselves? Sorrow at the pitiable destruction and loss of life? Grief as they look at the dead bodies of children and babies laying there on the ground? Regret that such heinous acts had occurred at the hands of their own soldiers? Oh, no, but:

be careful that you do not forget the LORD, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

Yes, indeed, "thank the wonderful loving God of heaven and earth that such riches and bounty have now been delivered into our hands."

In fact, they were outrightly forbidden to feel compassion for their victims! Deut. 7:16

You must destroy all the peoples the LORD your God gives over to you. Do not look on them with pity

History, and sociopathic religions, repeat themselves.

i checked out the link that expat provided to see the responses, and apparently the Product of a Faulty Condom that wrote that nauseating piece is a comedian.

Funny none of them seem at all upset about any of the family members they may have had that didn't "make it"....and as someone else mentioned all the men, women and children destroyed by THEIR God...but look how happy they are to be looting those people's homes....

    DISGUSTING

I can't believed I ever was a part of that.........

I clicked on the link to this guys webpage and followed it to the "official" JW webside...

this just kinda stuck me as funny.......

    From the "official" website:

Actually, Jehovah's Witnesses are interested in you and your welfare. They want to be your friends and to tell you more about themselves, their beliefs, their organization, and how they feel about people and the world in which all of us live.

    From an actual JW:

We had gone to neighboring houses to find stuff to burn in our fire. It seemed funny going up to those vacant houses. We didn't knock. We would just open the door and say "Oh, 'I'm not interested', You say? You have your own religion? Too bad, too bad, you great city, for in one hour your judgement came." We even brought back a couple of signs for the fire. One said, "No peddlers or agents". And one said "Beware of dog." We laughed long and hard as we piched them into the fire.
Can you feel the love here?????
