Where'd you sit in the KH?

Far in the back, usually on either side. No one sat in the first 2 or 3 rows from the front. Once there was so few people in the hall that they asked us to all sit in the middle section. All that to look less empty.

In the very back. This way, I could make frequent trips to the ladies room, and make fun of everyone who was speaking. You know, roll my eyes, giggle, pass notes. Those kind of mature things.

Not that being in the front stopped any of those things, though.

Front and center everytime! Mostly because we were always late and noone else took those seats..LOL

It's amazing how well I've erased all that from my mind. I can hardly remember any of the details of my KH days. I may have over done it though, I can hardly remember anything else either.

I hated sitting in the back with those disruptive children, so I opted for the fifth row in the middle section. You had no choice but to pay attention . Once I sat on the front row and felt like I was literally sitting up there on the stage. Ah never again.

When I was being a good little JW, it was usually about 2/3 of the way up and where ever I could find an end seat, coz no matter how good I was, I always got up to go to the little girl's room at least once.

When I was fading out, I started sitting farther and farther in the back. Towards the end, I was usually in the back row and somehow managed to be "sick" and have to leave halfway through the meeting.

we sat mainly in the back with a seat near the isle. we would though change sitting from one side to the other until we adopted an older brother (as a sort of grandfather fiqure) who's wife no longer came , and he would sit in the same spot near the back.

Odd that you should ask this. I was just thinking about this the other day. This was one of the first things that struck me as unthoughtful and rude about the witnesses. My hub and I were always late. We always told our study partners we were coming and to please save us some seats....so they knew we were on our way, but we have two small kids...and we are always late for everything. Needless to say, if we didn't make it by 5-mins-til-meeting-time mark we lost our saved seats. So, being late (with two wild and rowdy kids) we, of course, missed out on all the good seating and got stuck sitting at the very front knew we were coming but that we were just running a little behind like we always were. "At least when I went to 'church' there was always plenty of room for people to sit," I would tell my husband. He would say, "well we should've been on time". I'd say, "whatever...."

The witnesses, IMHO, were always really stingy about putting enough chairs out for people to sit in. I don't know what their problem was...but they never had enough chairs, and you'd have men briskly walking around during the meeting, rounding up chairs for those who came in late. It was almost as though it was done on purpose in order to make a spectacle out of those who had the nerve to show up late.

Another thing, completely off the subject here, was the temperature. During the meetings, I thought I would turn into a popsicle. No doubt the men wanted the air on, because it was probably like an oven in those suits, and then the women would just have to freeze to death because they had on dresses. I soon learned to wear long sleeve dresses and long skirts no matter what the weather was like...and to pack a couple of blankets (for me and the kids).

I was prone to panic attacks, so I sat in the back, on the end and spent most of the meeting standing in the back near the door. If I felt I needed to sit further up, it was always on an end so I could "escape" when needed. I was always afraid of being trapped at the kingdom hall. Hmmm "Trapped at the Kingdom Hall", has the makings for a song there somewhere.

On a side note, the panic attacks quit soon after I stopped going to the kingdom hall.
