Please read the "findings". There is going to be a pool of funds taken from each organization that is found guilty of coverups. Justic McClennan made this point at the beginning of this RC and asked GJackson if they would consider it. It was a loaded question. The RC may not take people to court, but how many lawyers will it make available for those who are willing to take a class action?.....Many...

Please be optimistic. I have faith in this commission I have seen some good things come from it before. I don't mean to sound hopelessly optimistic, but I do have some small knowledge of what powers it does have.

There is a lot at stake in a political sense if something is not done about these massive revalations. I remind you. This religion had been banned in the past.

i think this may end with a whimper. they will have to hold some money in reserve to help victims, and there will be a law passed that bails them out of responsibility (satans world leading on protecting children ironically), by making all reporting mandatory.

But the most damning part of this is the most simple and indisputable fact.

Over 1000 cases of sexual molestation with minors in 50 plus years. Not ONE of them reported to authorities.

    Not one....

Anyone with a soul would bristle at that very sad truth.

Of all the various comments about the ARC "umbertoecho" said "a Royal Commission is a iron fist in a velvet glove". And from the Aussi I talked to I understand that to be true.

In the 2013 summer convention discourse about "Human Apostates" my 25 year letter writing campaign, 11 years to homes was included as warning to the brotherhood of new 'apostate' tricks. My main verse was Lev.5:1 as to how it connects the WBTS to a $4.250M unregistered securties swindle. But my secondary verse was 1Pet. 2:14-16. Where Peter talks about the 'governor' sent by God to 'inflict punishment upon evildoers'. The WBTS stated many years ago that the 'governor' was the modern day court systems, just as "Pilate" was the Roman court of Peters day. I was applying it to the US court rulings proving WTBS corruption in their connection with a certian swindler [Ratmond C. Dale San Diego area]. Since the Conti case in my letters I use it to unnerve the 'brotherhood' with regard the WBTS data base Barbara Anderson is fixated on.

Through the postings surrounding the ARC I watch for 'umbertocho' comments as how the ARC has powers those of us in the USA don't understand. Powers of a 'governor' exactly as Peter said.

Vidiot - Wrong about Fox - O'Reilly/Fox were really pushing Jessica's law in all the states for protection of children.

I'm not promoting Fox and both CNN/Fox are on constantly when husband home -- he heard about Watchtower a month or so ago but it may have been newspaper.

    @ LV101...

    Huh; O'Reilly, of all people.

Don't think they mentioned the RC, though, which was what I was really getting at.

Gayle: What the government does in 2017 can only be guessed. The WT. has time to collect a lot of donations and sell Kingdom Halls by then.

It wouldn't surprise me if redress payments are started before the final report is ready. In Canada, when the Residential Schools were being investigated, the reconciliation payments for residential school survivors were put in place long before the final Truth and Reconciliation report was released.

I don't know if Australia has plans to start the redress right away, but I did read an article that concerned another institution (Catholic, I think) that was already preparing to make payouts. (I have been looking for the article...can't find it yet!...I will post it when I do).

From the WT? Are you f**king kidding me???

They're gonna fight this tooth and nail.

When you're rich, convinced you're right, and believe God's got your back, fighting it is the only option.

OrphanCrow - "...I did read an article that concerned another institution (Catholic, I think) that was already preparing to make payouts."

Ten years ago, I'd have never believed it (and that disbelief wouldn't even have been based on JW anti-Catholic bias, either).

Today, though, under Pope Francis... I don't doubt it for a second.

True enough. I was making the statement in general, refering to all the institutions that took part in the Commission, not just the JWs.

Huh. If the WTS digs in their heels and the rest of the other institutions step up to the plate in giving redress, it will look very bad for the WTS.
