AUSTRALIA: Jehovah's Witness Malcolm Lee guilty of raping 80-year-old-woman

  ABC News: Malcolm Lee, 56, has been sentenced to three years, nine months jail for the attack on the woman, 80, at her home near Lakes Entrance in March. During a home massage, organised as a gift by the victim's daughter, Lee touched, kissed and digitally raped the woman.

  He claimed he believed at the time it was consensual and she was enjoying it. Lee pleaded guilty to the charges in August and was today sentenced in the County Court in Morwell. He will be eligible for parole in two years, six months.

  The Age newspaper: Lee, a masseur for 14 years who was registered with the national body, pleaded guilty to rape and sexual assault.

  His lawyer this week called for him to be spared jail because of his mistaken belief about consent, his subsequent remorse and previous good character. He had since split from his wife and was ostracised by his family and friends in the Jehovah's Witnesses church.

  But Judge Mullaly said jail was the only appropriate penalty for the "brazen" breach of trust, which had had a significant impact on the woman and her daughter.

  How sickening. I have to admit I am totally revulsed by this vile individual and his disgusting actions.

  How ironic a word like 'brazen' is used. It re,imded me of the WBT$ shunning get out clause od 'brazen conduct(tm)'.

  Let me get this straight... A 55-year-old man felt tempted to sexually assault an 80-year-old woman? I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be insulting here, but... seriously?!

  I suppose these Jehovah's Witnesses are so repressed sexually that they would rape anyone who can't protect themselves. A 10-year-old child. A teenager. An elderly woman.

  But still...

  I am wondering if the victim and granddaughter are congregation members? Otherwise I have a hard time figuring out why a granddaughter would select a male massage therapist over a female...I know for sure that my 84 year old JW mother would never allow a male stranger to massage her...but a trusted brother...maybe.
